Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm a mix of science and the arts/design. I love creating beautiful images and designing genuine well crafted things. Gardening and growing things brings me great joy. My yard has different spots scattered throughout with lots of sprouting and growing experiments. My husband is a great cook and we love food and food science. Being able to walk into my yard and pick fresh ingredients is invaluable. Our family loves to explore nature and cultural and arts related activities.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Easy, I love to travel! My husband and I have met many people through our volunteer efforts from many parts of the world who were traveling through couchsurfing and work exchange. We have made life long friends with such interesting, genuine people that we were also able to share our lives and cultures with in return. Our best traveling experiences have been in places where we stayed in lodging owned by locals and we directly interacted with them. We enjoy meeting new people and learning from them and them from us.
Interests
I get excited researching my genealogy. I love meeting people from all over the world yet especially from areas my ancestors lived so I can get a better understanding of the culture and people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music, but I especially love instrumental ethnic and classical music. I also love great movie soundtracks. My favorite books are gorgeously photographed cookbooks, especially those that incorporate culture and stories. Architecture, design, art and gardening books also fill my shelves. I enjoy intelligent movies that make you think about the possibility of things. I also enjoy a good comedy because laughter is good for the soul.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I built a Tiny House! As a volunteer project working with an amazing benefactress and local arts and culture group.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my passion for healthy living, design, photography, food and genealogy research. We would love to cook for you! I'm also happy to share the unique Cajun culture of South Louisiana which we call 'joie de vivre'.
