Hi there,
my name's Franziskus, I'm 26 years old and apart from making music as a hobby I like to travel, explore other countries and get to know the culture.

I stumbled upon Couchsurfing during my semester abroad in the U.S. and love it! Since I'm back in Germany I started hosting people in Ulm. In April 2018 I moved back to my small hometown Ochsenhausen together with my girlfriend Theresa. We'll see if there will be any Couchsurfers at all who are visiting Ochsenhausen :)

Of all the great experiences I made during my semester abroad, the best ones were to meet interesting, funny, inspiring and great persons all over the U.S. while couchsurfing.

During this seven months of studying, working and traveling in the U.S., I experienced so many great things and so much kindness and hospitality from couchsurfers what I now want to give back to travelers.
Couchsurfing was truly an experience that made my time in the USA even greater than it already was. Sharing a place to stay, stories and experiences is now what I want to give back to couchsurfers.

If you want to meet awesome people couchsurfing is a guarantee for success. I just love this community and never had bad experiences so far.
As a traveler:
To make trips unique:
Even if you stay at a really good hotel - it's just a hotel. Like every other hotel you ever stayed at...sometimes better than the other ones, sometimes worse. But still just a hotel. I will probably never look back to a trip and say: "Oh look, this hotel was the best thing I experienced there!" ...
BUT: People make trips unique. And couchsurfing is a really great way to meet new people and share stories with them. Even though I do not have much couchsurfing experience yet I already love it! Traveling and get to know great people is much more interesting and more fun than just visiting the tourist spots and taking some photos.

As a host:
To give the hospitality back I experienced while traveling and to show cool people the cool city of Ulm. It's such a nice and adorable place!

兴趣

Playing the piano and the drums is one of my favorite hobbies. I'm a member of two brass bands and a jazz band - one of the brass bands is exactly like you would imagine traditional German brass music ;)
Because the bands are pretty big I like being with other people and having a good time with my friends.
My second hobby is Floorhockey, which is really fun.

And, of course, I love traveling!

Does not exist...
...because there are a lot of things that are amazing!

- Making a lot of music with a lot of great people.
- Meeting new people and experiencing new things every day of my semester abroad was just magnificent!
- Salto puente (something like bungee jumping) in Banos, Ecuador.
- Hiking the Grand Canyon from the rim all the way down to the river and up to the rim again in one day ... Was a pretty long hike but a great and unforgettable day!
EDIT: actually did that twice now, but the second time was not all the way down :P
- Snorkeling with sharks on the Galapagos Islands.
- Camping in some really beautiful spots in American national parks

Also, I finished an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic in Germany at a big company and am currently studying engineering. So I would say about myself that I'm not completely untalented in working with tools and stuff ;)
