Music, Movies, and Books

My Favorite Music:
Music is my escape and companion on every journey. I love the soulful melodies of classical music, especially the works of Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, which bring a sense of peace and reflection. But I’m equally captivated by the energy of modern genres—whether it’s the rhythmic beats of Afrobeat, the creativity of alternative rock, or the rich storytelling in folk songs. Recently, I've been vibing to Fela Kuti for his revolutionary sound and Bon Iver for their atmospheric tunes that always seem to capture a moment in time.

My Favorite Movies:
I gravitate toward movies that leave a lasting impression, whether it's through powerful storytelling, stunning visuals, or profound themes. "Inception" blew my mind with its layers of reality, while "The Grand Budapest Hotel" enchanted me with its quirky charm and cinematic beauty. I also love films that showcase the human spirit and adventure, like "Into the Wild," which speaks to my inner wanderer. Foreign films are another favorite—there’s something special about seeing the world through the lens of another culture.

My Favorite Books:
Books are my window to the world, whether I’m home or on the road. I’m drawn to novels that explore complex characters and deep emotions, like "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel García Márquez, with its magical realism that makes life feel larger than it seems. On the non-fiction side, I enjoy books that inspire personal growth and understanding of the world, such as "Sapiens" by Yuval Noah Harari, which reshaped the way I see human history. Recently, I’ve been diving into travel literature and memoirs, with "The Art of Travel" by Alain de Botton sparking my love for the philosophy behind why we journey.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most incredible experiences I’ve had was traveling to kilimanjaro in Tanzania to work on a community partnership project. Spending 14 days immersed in the local culture, staying at the seminary, and building relationships with people from all walks of life was transformative. The journey wasn’t just about seeing a new place; it was about connecting with a community, understanding their challenges, and finding ways to support their growth. Being part of a team that helped strengthen ties between our communities was a humbling and enriching experience—one that I’ll always carry with me.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I love helping people grow and learn in practical ways. Whether it's giving tips on social media management or showing you how to plan a seamless move from one location to another (my area of expertise!), I enjoy sharing the skills I’ve gained through my work. I can also offer insights into community outreach and international partnerships, especially when it comes to building strong, long-lasting relationships between different regions and cultures. If you're interested in learning Swahili or discussing Tanzania’s vibrant culture, I'm happy to teach what I know.

Learn:
I'm always eager to learn something new, especially from the people I meet on my travels. Whether it’s picking up new languages, understanding different cultural customs, or learning a new cooking recipe from your homeland, I’m open to absorbing knowledge from all around. I’d also love to hear about your travel stories and perspectives—there’s always something to learn from another person’s journey.

Share:
I’m excited to share stories from my travels, especially the amazing experiences I’ve had working in Tanzania and other places. I can also share ideas on how to manage social media effectively, as well as my knowledge of organizing and managing events or projects. If you’re interested in community service or international partnerships, I’d be happy to share insights from my own experiences. And, of course, I’d love to swap music, movies, and book recommendations!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe that every encounter is an opportunity for meaningful exchange. With my hosts, I’d love to share my experiences from traveling and working on community projects, particularly in Tanzania, where I’ve been involved in fostering partnerships and understanding different cultures. I can also share my knowledge in areas like social media management, event organization, and marketing strategies—practical skills that might come in handy for you!

On a lighter note, I can cook a simple meal, teach you a few phrases in Swahili, or introduce you to some of my favorite music and films from around the world. Whether it’s sharing stories, ideas, or a moment of laughter, I’m always happy to contribute to a warm and engaging stay.
