About Me

Quebecer living in Ottawa working for Canada's federal government. I try to get outside any time I can, hang out with my friends, consume as much culture as possible, and bank my vacation time so I can leave on big trips once in a while!

Parle-moi en français si tu es francophone!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The usual: love meeting people from around the country and the world.

Interests

I soak up any and all culture... theatre, live music, documentaries, podcasts -- I love to participate in something that tries to convey meaning and discuss it afterwards :) I am in a sketch comedy ensemble, too. Nothing too highbrow, though.

I like soccer, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, road biking, hiking, and camping (and canoeing, if it's taking me to a campground). Just starting rock climbing too...

discussing politics, sociology as it applies to everyday life... basically just sitting around and theorizing about how the world works.

Music... I play a bit of piano and guitar to relax and I am constantly looking for new music..!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a few amazing multi-day treks which were really unforgettable - in Bolivia, Brazil, the Yukon and the Julian Alps.

Teach, Learn, Share

Best spots in Ottawa for craft beer, shawarma, Korean, Vietnamese, doughnuts, ramen, craft beer, pizza, coffee, dancing, etc.

If you want to experience local traditions, I can also recommend you go to Lucky Ron's if you're here on a Saturday afternoon and to Remi Royale if you are here on the last Sunday of a month.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If I have some free time or am able to make some, I'll be happy to show you around my neighbourhood and go out for a walk, a coffee or a drink! If you're planning on doing some tourist activities, once in a while, I may be interested to join, if you're open to it. I usually have some good vibes, stories and jokes in my back pocket.

I may offer you to join me for an outdoors activity, most likely cross-country skiing in the winter. Join if you're interested!

** if you're not Canadian: I can show you some music from my part of the world, tell you about our country's history and explain what the big deal is with french vs. english in Canada, etc., if you care to know... If you want to learn some French, English or some music, I can help you get started! If your friends are sick of talking politics, I am your guy.
