About Me
Don't be fooled by my picture. Although I lived for one year in Italy, I don't belong to the Italian mob!
I'm actually a Portuguese aerospace engineer. I did an exchange programme in Italy three years ago and lived in Canada to do some research for my master's thesis, two years ago.
One thing I learned during these last years is that no place is good enough to stay at. I crave for more: to meet new people, with different backgrounds; to learn new skills, new languages, new philosophies; to explore the world and to get to know the little secrets that every country hides and has to offer.
After all, I'm Portuguese. We have always been explorers. My ancestors found several different countries and now it's my turn to do the same.
P.S. - I love to cook, so I don't mind cooking some portuguese or italian food for you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think there's no better way to get to know a city/country than with a local! Being hosted by locals is the best way to truly experience what's it like to live in the places you're visiting. Locals can give you valuable insight that you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else on the internet. The experiences I had so far with Couchsurfing were tremendous and I'm planning to keep doing it!
Interests
There's nothing like playing a good soccer game with friends and impressing them afterwards with some mad cooking skills!
I really enjoy driving and go-karting.
I also love exploring nature either in a good hiking trail or a nice mountain bike ride.
During the winter, skiing is my sport of choice, although I suck at it. Besides, there's almost no snow in Portugal.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm into several different music genres, but I can go with some of my favorite artists. Flume, Alt-J, Pearl Jam, Explosions in the Sky, John Butler, Bon Iver, Half Moon Run, Chet Faker, Alice in Chains, Metallica and the list goes on and on.
Regarding books, perhaps "La Sombra Del Viento" from Carlos Ruiz Zafon, and the Millenium Trilogy by Stieg Larson are the ones I liked the most so far.
Last but not least, Interstellar, Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, The Dark Knight, Inception, La Vita È Bella are amongst my beloved ones.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been flown by a friend in an helicopter which flew around Victoria, Canada and the views were awesome. Besides he did some extreme moves like sudden descents towards the water followed by hard banking turns. The G's I felt were beyond anything I've ever tried. It was an awesome experience!!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Definitely, my cooking skills. Also, a nice conversation with good laughs, basically time well spent.
