Overview
About Me
I'm a 6th year medical student who loves travelling and meeting new people. My idea of a great night would involve drinking wine with friends or new acquaintances while having a good conversation or singing. I'm easy to talk to and a good listener, especially in english, although I understand some spanish and italian. I love reading and live music, particularly rock (pretty much all subgenres, but especially psychedelic) and jazz. I am definitely low maintenance, as I can sleep anywhere and don't even need to sleep that much.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd be lying if I didn't say the main reason is financial. On a student budget it simply wouldn't be possible to afford lodging in some cities. Of course there is the huge plus of meeting not just a new place, but also the people who live there. This is my first time trying couchsurfing, so I'm still a little fuzzy on the details, but I hope to be a quick learner!

Music, Movies, and Books
Rock music, especially old classic rock (Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Black Sabbath), pop-rock (The Beatles, The Beach Boys), psychedelic rock (King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Tame Impala), some metal (Machine Head), jazz (Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonius Monk, Weather Report, Don Ellis), Brazilian (Caetano Veloso, Tom Jobim) classical (Beethoven, Brahms, Shostakovich, Rachmaninoff). As you can see, I'm not very picky with music, I enjoy good music from all genres ;)
My favorite director is probably Stanley Kubrick, but I also really like Quentin Tarantino, Cristopher Nolan, Wes Anderson, Alfred Hitchcock, Paolo Sorrentino. I really like the process of watching a movie in a theater and I've been trying to do it more often, but it's not a cheap habit xP
My favourite author is the portuguese José Saramago, particularly "O Evangelho segundo Jesus Cristo". Reading "The Lord of the Rings" was one of the highlights of my reading history, as it was a big endeavour which was totally worth it! I also really liked everything by Paul Auster that I've read so far, especially "The New York Trilogy".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of my favourite trips was inside my own country, where I took a roadtrip along the coastline and got to know some of the stunning beaches I never knew Portugal had!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a good cook, so I can teach some portuguese recipes; I love learning new languages and perfecting the ones I already speak. I can play some guitar (self-taught) and sing more or less (I am a tenor in a choir).
What I Can Share with Hosts
Advices on what to do in Portugal (particularly Porto). I can also share some medical knowledge if necessary (hopefully it won't be!) as I am almost a doctor.
