CURRENT MISSION

Finish my PhD and clarinet diploma with acceptable mental sanity. Trying to understand why "1. e4".

ABOUT ME

My name is Francisco, I am chilean. My friends call me "Chico" (brazilian nickname for Francisco... in Chile it's "Pancho" and in Spain "Paco").
I left Chile in 2010, and am learning a lot here in Europe. I like to meet people and have random conversations in random places. I like music, sports, sometimes a chess game is nice, hang out with my friends, normal stuff :)

PHILOSOPHY

It is important to say yes, sometimes the greatest oportunities are presented in random manners. It's not a great philosophy, even not original, but whatever, it works just fine for me.
The most important thing in life is family. I come from a big one: we are 9 brothers, of whom I am the only one out of Chile, I miss them and I will go back to spend my life with them. Dogs are cool also, back in home I have a few.
It's nice to know someone who makes you feel that you have already met him/her before.

I'm new at this, and would like to participate as a surfer and a participant in CS reunions, at least here in Paris.

Music: mostly classical, contemporary and Jazz.
Also Hermeto Pascoal (Brazil... genius), Serú Girán (Argentinian band, leading Charlie García), Pat Metheny, some progresive rock bands like Yes, Jethro Tull, Genesis, King Crimson, etc.
Movies: Il Padrino, Stephen King's IT, all of Monthy Python's movies, Pulp Fiction, Snatch, Harakiri, all of Bill Plympton's cartoons, and why not, Zoolander.
Books: I'm not quite a reader, but I like Herman Hesse and of course Pablo Neruda (chilean!).

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Went with some Brazilian friends to Bohinj, this is a lake in Slovenian mountains. We saw this great mountain next to the lake, and these guys decided to climb it. At first I put some resistence i(it was very tall, you know... I just wanted to swim), but when we got at the top, some hours later, the view was incredible... wont forget it.
