About Me

CURRENT MISSION

As a Biologist, I am looking to raise awareness about the conservation of nature and the importance of protecting the environment. Along with that, I try to travel the world and get socially involved in local projects.

ABOUT ME

I am currently working as the research and conservation manager at a Zoo in Denver, Colorado. My passion for animals has brought me here and I love my job. I get to run both, local and international projects working with animals and strategies to save them. I did my PhD at the University of Sydney working with native bees. I lived in Australia for 5 years and I loved it. I worked with native bees and trying to raise awareness on the importance of native pollinators and the protection and conservation of wildlife. I was born in Mexico City and did my undergraduate studies in Biology because of my passion for nature, plants, and animals. One of my favorite things to do is traveling and meeting new people. The exchange of ideas, and ways to see the world are one of my top things to do once I meet someone new. I consider myself to be outgoing and fun. I also love learning new languages, currently, I have been battling with Turkish, this is the first time I face a language that has nothing to do with English or Latin languages so that makes it a big challenge but also very fun. I try to learn new languages because it opens new doors to interacting with people from all around the world. I like to see a culture through the eyes of a native speaker. Most of the times it is no easy but the reward it way worth it.

One of the things I loved the most about my country is the warmth of its people. How everyone is going to welcome you and treat you as if you were part of the family. Another top thing is the food, the ruins, and the beautiful landscapes around the country. From beaches to desserts and rainforests I am very proud of my culture and my country and I always look forward to sharing my experiences and tips if you ever want to wander in Mexico. I also enjoy cooking (especially Mexican food) so I if you also like that or just like the food I would be very happy to cook for you and share a good talk.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is curious, too short too good. Always looking forward to meeting new people with new perspectives and stories to tell.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My aunt recommended me this website and I loved the project and thought it was a very good idea. I'm trying to help other travelers to get to know Mexico, Australia and myself. I am very passionate about learning new languages so every time I have the chance I will practice new words of the language of the country where I am traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was hosted in Helsinki during a 24 hour flight connection. I got to know the my Couchsurfing host and it was fun to live the experience.

Last December (2018) I went to China and I met wonderful people through Couchsurfing. I went to have dinner with them and share new stories and tips about China.

I'm looking forward to having more experiences like while traveling the world.

Interests

I am very interested in Science, discussing the importance of it and the projects related to Ecology, plants and animals. Like many people around here, I am extremely passionate about travelling and meeting new personalities every time. I like the idea of being able to share new stories and adventures with people that you just meet. I also love art and enjoy going to Museums and art galleries. Sports-wise I like to play Volleyball and Basketball. I am a big fan of recycling and composting, with the long term goal of being 100% sustainable.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Working in Sri Lanka, being part of the project Explore Sri Lanka. It was a life changing experience to work with 20 interns from all over the world, learning about different cultures and costumes. We had to take photographs of the places we visited and then we had to write and made a webpage so people can know about Sri Lanka and the amazing country it is.

I can share tips about Australia and Mexico. I can also speak Spanish, French, and English so we can always have some practice them.
