About Me

CURRENT MISSION

The more I travel the more I like it... It's my addiction!

ABOUT ME

Here's a list of some stuff about me and a brief list of things that I enjoy doing. :)

- International citizen of the world, dual citizenship (born in Brazil, grew up in Uruguay, Italian ancestry).
- Avid traveler, visited 40+ countries and always hungry for more. :)
- Polyglot: 6 languages (3 fluent, 2 advanced, 1 basic).
- I enjoy doing things that get me out of my comfort zone and/or scare me, e.g.: Skydiving.
- Musician (14 years playing different instruments).
- Tango dancer.
- Martial arts: Jitsu.
- Outdoor runner (longest distance: marathon); I also enjoy consistent gym workouts and swimming.
- Lover of urban cycling.
- Enjoy giving back to the community, having experience in volunteer work.
- Studied business and would've been an ace student if it weren't for all my travelling. ;) Still managed to graduate with a very good grade.
- Travel, travel TRAVEL. I know I've already said it, but the more I do it the more I like it. It's like an addiction. At one point in my life I was in a different city EVERY WEEK for over 3 months while still working full-time!

PHILOSOPHY

I am ambitious, goal-setting, and practical: I like getting stuff done. Virtually every day for me needs to have some sort of accomplishment and self-improvement.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new here, but I like getting involved!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted and been hosted MANY times before throughout my travels, but only once or twice through Couch Surfing (more recently). The thing is, I've always had my own network of friends and friends of friends. It works like a charm, and I've made some of my best friends that way, but through this site the options open up even more. :)

I can't help but think of the glowing references I'd have by now had I registered here when I started hosting people, given that I've done it so many times. ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

Meh, the list would be endless.

When it comes to music, let's just say I'm more of an old-fashioned, classical guy. I love most music, the older it is the higher the chances I'll appreciate it. Conversely, the newer it is the higher the chances it won't be my thing, particularly when it comes to mainstream music. I'm mostly a rock guy but you may find me listening to death metal one day and Bach's harpsichord concertos on the next...

As for movies, it really depends, I'm a bit unconventional though; sometimes you'll find me watching some really obscure old cult classic. I like dark comedy and satire as well. Oh and classic British humour such as Monty Python... Unmatched to this day!

Books, mostly about my industry or about self-improvement. :) Some novels too, ask me and I can name my favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few:
- Counter-terrorism course in Crimea, Ukraine.
- Skydiving in Győr, Hungary.
- Working in a summer camp near St Petersburg, Russia, as a volunteer.
- Learning Russian entirely on my own (work in progress still).
- Working as a volunteer police officer in London, UK.
- Running a full marathon (Vilnius 2015) in under 4hrs and with only 7-8 weeks' training, after being determined to accomplish such goal and having envisioned it for years.
- Some more but I'll leave the mystery. ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Ask me about languages, history, music, and culture!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I enjoy the odd deep conversation! I can also teach some basic tango moves.
