About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to save the world.
ABOUT ME
Yeah, so I'm currently doing development work in Leo, Burkina Faso. I would be surprised to get more than 1 person visiting me (but then, don't hesitate to do so!). Before that, I studied engineering in Laval University, got a degree but realised that the real world was scaring the shit out of me and that I rather travel. So here i am.
What I like here: the people are extremely friendly, the constant presence of the sun (well at least in the dry season), the hellish rains (in the rain season), the very different landscape, the incredibly delicious and fresh mangoes, chickens all over the places (and goats and donkeys), working with a cooperative here in Leo that gives me energy and motivation, people's sense of humour, the way everything just works out even though you're sure they won't, the unpredictability of life here, traveling around.
What I miss: climbing (Burkina is about as flat as it gets), the winter, treeplanting, the incredibly cool people I know, outdoors activities, running, a real strong black coffee, olives, cheese (no cheese here, unless you count The Laughing Cow cheese, but I don't. I still eat it though. We all do what we can).
PHILOSOPHY
Jesus, this is getting pretty deep stuff. I didn't think I was going to be making a big review of my life by signing up to CS!
But well. I have to say that being here in Burkina sort of makes me think about all this. What is it, exactly, that I want to make out of my life? I mean, really. It's a tough one to answer. I feel like a blessing, and perhaps in some ways a curse, of our generation (at least in West) is that for those who want to see it and seize the opportunity, there are literaly thousands of ways you can live your life. I would argue more than... perhaps ever before. But that's confusing: you have people on the one hand advancing their careers, being productive and all, and lots of them, too. Then you have a few lost souls (or perhaps not) traveling, bumming around the world, roaming the planet. You may be able to do some of both, but really not quit any of theses. You may be able to fully focus on one, perhaps missing out on the other. There's also a ton of branches and subdivisions.
Basically, what I want to say it that I find life confusing, amazing, mind-boggingly rich and downright weird.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I did give money! I'm offering a couch (actually a mattress) for people to sleep in a place where you wouldn't think someone would!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
We had visitors from France, in Quebec at my previous appartment. Actually they contacted my roomate (I didn't have an account back then). The funny thing is that he never actually met them, because had a last minute thing happening. But we took them to a dinner we were going to and they had a great time, even though technically they never met their host.

Music, Movies, and Books
Well, just visit and we'll talk about that, really! I have to admit I am somewhat movies & books starved right now. Well it's always like that... sometimes you take the time to read. Sometimes you don't, because you chose something else instead.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Treeplanting is pretty amazing. Multi-pitch climbing too. Traveling in Africa is also special.
Teach, Learn, Share
Again, just stop by and we'll talk! If you read around my profile, you'll see some interest or experiences I had and can share. Like climbing, photography, treeplanting, music, movies... I'm the process of knowing how to take free-ranging chicken and turn into a soup all by myself. I'm not there yet, but working on it.
I also have more relevent skills you know. Don't judge me!
