About Me

Well here it goes.

I might look like a kid on my profile picture (it's been a while since I changed it, I've never been a big fan of being on pictures), but I'm actually 26.

I've been working as a translator for a couple years now, back in France. I translate content from English into French, mostly financial and not very interesting stuff, but I do enjoy my work!
The truth is, the first time I couchsurfed, I met one person from Philadelphia who told me about how he moved to Argentina for a year and did not need to find a new job, as he was freelance translator who just needed a laptop. I thought that was pretty cool... A couple years later, I followed his path and here I am.

I've had to opportunity to live several years in the US and to visit a couple countries, but nothing like those crazy Surfers out there.

I would say I'm very open-minded to different culture, even though I must admit I have very strong feelings about my music. But I do my best to listen to different stuff!

Some random facts about me:

* I can't wink
* As everyone else, I once tried to learn the guitar. I now know about 5 chords.
* I can't grow a beard, hence the "19-year-old look"
* My jokes get poorer and poorer over the years...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, my first experience on Couchsurfing was in 2012.

I wanted to travel by myself around the East Coast of the US and around Canada for a couple weeks. Since I had a low budget, Couchsurfing was actually a great idea. Plus, it was my first time travelling alone so I thought meeting new people would actually be great.
I ended up couchsurfing in a dozen cities. I loved every part of it. I got to meet so many interesting people who always had great suggestions regarding what I should experience.

It's been a while now since my last surfing experience, as I haven't travelled by myself for a while now. But I lived such great moments last time that I am very excited to surf again!

I unfortunately never had the chance to host someone. I always ended up living in small places or with a roommate not too convinced by the whole CouchSurfing experience. I'll move soon, so hopefully I can change this!

Anyway, I'm always willing to meet new people, especially from a different culture/part of the world. I'm not much of an expert in anything but I'm sure I can teach you a thing or two :)

Interests

I've been rockclimbing for a couple years now, I'm not very good at it but I really enjoy it.
I also played a lot of table tennis when I was younger, and recently transitioned to squash.

I am very interested in all card games, especially poker, and anything close to Game Theory. But I am not a nerd I swear :)

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Techno, House, Vaporwave, Trip-hop, you name it. Also less electronic genres, sometimes. I do listen mostly to songs without lyrics, as it helps me focus when I work.
I love going to live concerts.

Movies: my watchlist keeps on growing, but just to name a few: The Shining, Requiem for a Dream, Deathproof, Steak, ...

TV shows: I love TV shows and watch way too many of them. Big big Leftovers fan, but also South Park, Bojack Horseman, Superjail, Community, etc. Chances are if you like a show, I've watched at least an episode or two.

Books: I've been trying to finish the Mars Trilogy (by Kim Stanley Robinson) for a while now. I'm very close to it now! Otherwise, I try to read as much news as possible. Also enjoy the occasional creepy pasta.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, amazing is a strong word. I'm only 26, and I'm just some fucking guy, so I have never really done anything amazing.

Let's just say I once nailed a piece of paper into a trashcan from at least 15 yards. Wait that's not amazing what the f**k am I saying.
