ABOUT ME

"Hi there ! We are Francois and Sophie, travelers and musicians. Thanks for enjoying our music!" These words are written on a piece of cardboard, laid on the ground in front of us, when we are playing music in the street. Almost one and half year ago we decided to quit everything in France, family and friends, jobs and apartment, to travel and discover the world. Such a long way !Before that, I (Francois) was a professional musician, playing with several bands, and a music teacher. Sophie used to work in the world of music too (and contemporary art) as promoter and press-officer, organizing gigs and other events. She was also a great singer, but only in her bathroom !Traveling gave us the opportunity to make music together. It became really concrete when we arrived in Australia. From then we've been traveling and busking all around Australia for 9 months. Since the beginning of December 2011 we are in New Zealand and we're planning to reach South America very soon... To be continued !Of course, we are not only made of music ! We enjoy "the many little things" witch make a simple and happy life. And we love to meet peolple, that's why we want to be part of the CS'project.Some things you have to know about us: - we don't eat meat but everything else is allright - we enjoy a good glass of wine or a fresh beer, even though we are not so used to alcohol since we are travelling (sober Britanian people, what a shame!)- Ah yeah, the last very important thing: don't talk to Sophie before she drinks her coffee in the morning! Anyway, we are open-minded people who'd like to share stories and chats with other talk-active human beings...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are trying to fit the CS spirit by sharing all we can with our hosts. It is also important for us to respect the privacy of everyone and the place where we are staying.
We hosted some people as well, but on the front seats of our van, while we were traveling Australia !
Of course we'd like to have a couch available for travelers when we'll be back to France...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have been hosted by a few people now, and what we can say about CS is that it is a great experience each time. We think that it's one of the best way to learn about a country. Being hosted in a family in Mumbai was totally different from staying in a student home in Tehran... We are still in touch with everyone and some are real good friends now.

兴趣

We are particularly interested in music (as you noticed !). We are traveling with one guitar (a bit damaged now but she still sounds well !) and we love jamming.
Of course, that's not all ! Photography for Sophie and sport and meditation for François are other passions.
Chatting, cooking, eating, reading, watching movies, partying and drinking sometimes, dancing, sleeping, s**ing... everything necessary for a human being !

The last album we enjoyed : Grizzly Bear, Veckatimest (remix version, yesterday night !)
The 2 books we are reading : Shantaram (Gregory David Roberts) and Scar tissue (Anthony Kiedis)
And the last movie: we've seen Mad Bastards a few months ago in Australia.
