One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived abroad in Australia for a year and I loved it. I was able to go for my Junior year study abroad during my undergraduate years. I lived in tropical North Queensland, in Cairns. I was able to scuba dive the GBR, explore the oldest extant rainforest in the world, and meet people from around the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to read, teach, and engage in "big" talk! I taught science at a children's museum for 6 years. I can also teach spanish and english. I also know how to dance bachata, merengue, cumbian, and salsa, as these are dances I grew up dancing with my family. My brothers and I were taught by my mother who to this day still loves to dance, it makes us feel closer to home, Guatemala. I would love to learn more Chinese, I know the basics due to an intensive 8 week class I took in the summer of 2018. I also grew up cooking for my family, so I can cook many dishes from Guatemala, as well as know my way through a kitchen really well, as long as I have ingredients, I can always make something tasty. Anthropology is my major both in undergrad and graduate school. This means I love to talk about people, cultures, and meaningful differences and similarities.
