关于我
Despite being German I'm often a little late for appointments, I look much more like a guy from Spain and I defend my human right for coffee as hard as an Italian. But I love to fix stuff and somehow I always invent little things in the house to make it work better. On the road I always travel with a little bag where I put in metal wires or other useful things that I find on the street: never know for what it's good. So this is probably my German side :-)
In the last years my little status icon in CS stayed on "the-little-airplane-mode" longer and longer and I'm tending to describe myself as "semi-nomad" more often when people ask about me (read my philosophy section if you wanna know more about that). Nonetheless I wouldn't describe myself as restless, actually I'm pretty layed back and my body always appreciated to forces of gravity :-)
PHILOSOPHY
I always perceived it as a little wonder that each person around me has his/her own unique universe of understanding the world. A stranger next to me in the subway could have a completely different set of truths, values and sense of life and even when you sit together with close friends, alien worlds meet to form an intersubjective space for a certain time. Maybe this enriching aspect of difference drove me to studying cultural anthropology years ago and certainly these studies made me even more curious of getting to know more cultures and subcultures.
With this fundamental curiosity driving me, I see my status icon in CS being on "the-little-airplane-mode" more and more often in the last years and at the same time I tend to use the term "semi-nomad" more often when people ask about my life. I'm still ambivalent about that term in relation to my life, because it includes a lot of sacrifice, but it feels like being worth to discover. And since I'm with a wonderful partner with whom I can share my "nomadism" the term "loneliness" certainly doesn't apply and that's important :-)
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I'm a CS member since many years now, and I mostly stick to the "old school core" of hosting and surfing. I hardly take part in CS meetings because I feel it to be a too much "branded" way of socializing. I had only few chances to host people, but I surfed a lot in completely different settings in Europe, US, Asia and the Middle East. I only had positive experiences in CS so far. Wonderful guests and wonderful hosts.

音乐、电影和书籍
Regarding movies and music the most important criteria for me is that there is a "soul" in the piece of work. I don't just want to be entertained in repetitive patterns, but I love to be confronted with inspiration, with enriching thoughts, mental states or new emotional landscapes.
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Hitchhiking through Iraq was probably one of the craziest things so far.
A 10-day silent Vipassana meditation was one of the nicest things I did.
Night snorkeling with a flashlight.
Camping in the beautiful wilderness of Norway.
