About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Experience the world through food and travel.

ABOUT ME

I took the long route through school and studied everything under the sun for ten years. I've dabbled in computer repair, programming, travel writing, photography, and blogging. In addition, I've studied the culinary arts, philosophy, and political science. I've worked as a cook, computer tech, network installer, wedding photographer, web content writer, and door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman.

PHILOSOPHY

"Be bold and courageous. When you look back on your life, you'll regret the things you didn't do more than the ones you did." H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the CS community, but I'm interested in meeting interesting travelers, language exchange, and surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've known several avid couch surfers over the years but I've never taken the plunge.

Interests

Photography, hiking, cooking, uncommon travel (touring the churches of New York city), blogging, travel writing. I thoroughly enjoy experiencing cultures through their food, language, history, and politics. I love to discuss religion and politics with people who are open to the opinions of others.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies:
Scifi, action, comedy, and historical dramas. Some of my favorites are Star Wars, Dr. Who, Monty Python, and The Tudors.

Music:
I listen to everything from Classical to Country. My favorite music is Mozart for studying, country for driving a pickup truck, pop when cruising through a city, and bluegrass when sitting in a rocking chair on the porch in the Blue Ridge mountains.

Books:
I read books for informational purposes only. These days I prefer them to be electronic or found in a library so I can travel light.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I personally prepared and cooked $2000 worth of pizza and pasta in only five hours. Also, I survived a 90 mph impact a few years ago. After this I returned to school and knocked out 50 credit hours in a year, then 55 more in another year (most US college students take 24 - 32 credits in a year).

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have a foreign passport, you can travel inexpensively using USA Rail Passes. Also, anyone can benefit from advanced booking with Mega Bus throughout the Eastern and Western US.

Countries I’ve Visited

Andorra, Bolivia, France, Italy, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
