James used to be a boring office worker and video editor in Portsmouth, UK. He fell in love with volunteering through Voluntary Service Overseas’s International Citizenship Service while in Cebu, Philippines in the last quarter of 2012 and a year later, after putting all efforts into raising money and heading back to volunteer independently, he came back! Before his return however James worked as a travelling Fundraiser Driver in the United Kingdom for big charities such as Cancer Research UK, WWF and Unicef. Since then James has worked part time in Advertising to finance his day to day living while dedicating other efforts to Humanitarian Aid and advocacy within the Deaf and PWD communities of Cebu. Back in the UK, James worked in the Wine Industry and used last year to tie up loose ends before permanently leaving the country for a life of travel, Starting with NEW ZEALAND!

I learnt a huge amount of Filipino Sign Language and ASL during my time in the Philippines. I keep in touch with my deaf friends in Cebu, Philippines over skype and can't wait to go visit them again.
