About Me
Share love kindness and trust. Only love can make this world a better place 💕
(Not other creepy sh*t😅🙏)
🙌With winter break coming up, I’m planning to travel around the U.S. and Mexico. Because I want to meet actual people, see what makes them feel peaceful, what they’re into, and what drives them crazy. Basically, I’m here to connect with people. 🙌🤓
I was born in a small town in southwest China, and if you’ve ever heard of 🌲Jiuzhaigou🌿 (one of the most beautiful places on Earth, not that I’m biased or anything), then you basically know where I’m from. Growing up, I was surrounded by all kinds of cultures—my family’s Muslim, and I had Tibetan, Qiang, and Han friends, so I’ve always been super into different ways of life.
Then I moved to the big cities. I spent my college years in Chengdu, easily one of the chillest cities in China, where I found passion made lifelong friends and basically enjoyed life. After that, I went to Beijing for grad school. Beijing might seem like a lil bit of dull and intense, but if you dig a little deeper, you’ll find the real vibe.
Last my job took me to Belfast for a year to teach Chinese, and I got to experience all the political and cultural craziness there. I also discovered the beauty of Guinness (though I still can’t understand the Northern Irish accent to save my life). And now, I’ve landed in the U.S., teaching at Western Kentucky University.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The concept of this community really got me.
I believe the root of everything is a natural kind of love. All connections and encounters should happen naturally, like the Chinese concept of yuanfen (缘分). It’s the idea that everyone who crosses our path is connected to us in some meaningful way, and I’m deeply grateful for that connection.

Lately I’ve been into pure guitar solos, but I usually listen to all kinds of music. I’d be more than happy to share some great Chinese indie bands

What I Can Share with Hosts
If I were a host, would I host me? The answer is pretty obvious:
1. I’m a trustworthy person who respects everyone’s lifestyle and habits, and I know how to maintain boundaries.
2. I have great hygiene habits, love clean and tidy spaces, and I’m always happy to help out.
3. I genuinely enjoy connecting with people—that’s actually one of the reasons I chose to become a teacher.
4. I love listening to people’s stories and sharing my own. I have a special appreciation for stories that are complex, real, and outside the mainstream narrative. My own story is a bit like that, too—stories you wouldn’t often come across in the media, like what it’s like to be Muslim or Tibetan in China, or my experiences teaching Chinese in Northern Ireland.
5. Then there’s my profession: teaching Chinese. Whether you’re looking for long-term, professional advice or just want to learn a few choice swear words in Mandarin, I’ve got you covered. And coming from Sichuan, the birthplace of world-famous Sichuan cuisine, you’re guaranteed to taste the most authentic and mouth-watering dishes.
