About Me

CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME

I find myself back home after a lifechanging trip turned permenant move to the Baltic states of the ex Soviet Union.

I come from a very large mixed family, I'm not in any way devoutly religeous, but I'm not absolutely sure of my convictions enough to call myself an atheist.

After school I explored Australia for a few years, meandered and drank my way through a science degree at university, fell in love a few times, and generally grew up as slowly as possible.

My first real travelling experience out of the Australasian zone was China. After that and university came Eastern Europe, which I fell in love with and stayed as long as possible. Much of my travels after that were very much off the beaten track. This was the catalyst for a rapid period of growing up, my eventual return to Australia/New Zealand, some serious soul searching and eventually finding some peace with myself.

I would never take one day back of my travelling experiences, even though many of them have been absolutely challenging - it pushed me to the limit and made me grow up in a unique way, and has certainly contributed to my personality today.

I'm generally a gregarious and social person, other people have said I make friends easily, but I have my hermit moments.

I read avidly, and I love hearing other peoples experiences.

Through and through, I'm definitely a red blooded kiwi bloke.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

I'm a diverse individual - I like astronomy, computer programming, politics, art, and gardening. I went to an alternative school, even though I'm naturally a scientist by nature, my family is very liberal and I've had exposure to the arts through my upbringing.

I used to play the Cello, but broke my arm playing basketball and cut nerves to it and I don't have the exact capacity of movement needed to play anymore. I love the Cello, it's a mournful melencholy instrument that I adore.
