About Me

NOTE: PLEASE READ!!

Due to the earthquake my condo is destroyed in Manta. Now I have a new place in Santa Marianita, just 15 minutes south of Manta. Just some information on how you can get to Santa Marianita (SM).
When you arrive by bus, you will arrive at the new bus terminal on the east end of Manta. From this terminal there is a bus that goes to San Mateo, the small town just before Santa Marianita, but I am not sure of its frequency. From the bus terminal you can take a taxi to the central market as I have described below.

SM is not far, but it is a long walk, so the easiest and cheapest way (besides a taxi $8 to 10) is to take the "Camioneta" loosely translated, "pick up truck". They start in the centre of Manta at the "Nuevo Mercado Central" located between Avenue 15 & 16, and Calla 11 & 12.
This is also a good opportunity to do any shopping, definitely the cheapest place in town, and remarkably clean.

Make sure you look for the Camioneta with the "Black" canopy (sometimes white), just confirm with the driver, these go to Santa Marianita for $1.25 P/p. Tell the drives that you want to go to Cabana Restaurante frente Del Mar. It is about a 20 minute ride, via San Mateo. When you see the Ocean while you are going down the hill you are 150 meters from my property. Don't go into the town, you went to far, although via the beach its an easy walk back. My home is on the bottom of the hill next to the ocean in front of the restaurants. Just in case my what's app number is: +593-96-822-7809
Cheers,
Frank

I do not host more then one person, sometimes maybe 2, but not more, I have only one spare room.
As you know Couchsurfing is about sharing, therefore It would be nice if you bring your own food. In most cases I will cook, but you should help and we can share our food. I am not picky and will eat anything, although I hold off on carbs.
If you like Red wine, bring some. A decent Malbec or Cabernet is always welcome.
Also, I am an early starter in the day, so when you plan on staying here then please arrive during the day, at the latest by 6:00 PM. After that it is very dark around here, and you will have difficulty finding your way around and get transportation.
PS. I hope you like dogs, I have 3.

Hello, A little bit about me!
I was born and raised in the Netherlands, most of you call it Holland but that is actually incorrect since Holland are only the two western provinces, but enough about geography .
I worked on passenger ships, lived in Germany, Canada, USA and Hong Kong so I have a good experience of different nationalities. I am an easy going type of guy, does enjoy the finer things in life, have traveled extensively, love to scuba dive, really appreciate my large collection of lenses to pursue my photography hobby. Love a good glass of wine, splay a good game of Crib (some of you may not know it) or backgammon and or Rummy. I am a little trendy, and I like my different art that I have in my home. I like my Netflix on my appleTV and my music collection that ranges from Classical to Rock. Lastly, I love my dear dogs Lucky & Athena and Boofie. We survived the 7.8 earthquake together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If you are interested I can share my experiences in Ecuador, and I hope you have some marketing skills that you can help me with to market my town-home project in Santa Marianita. You can take a closer look at www.EcuadorDreamHome.com
