About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finish my degree and spend time abroad.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a military family and moved to a new place every two years so I haven't really taken roots in anywhere in particular, home is everywhere I've been and everywhere I will go. I took advantage of growing up in Germany and traveled most of Europe. I've been to 18 countries in total and hope to increase that number by many more. I love meeting worldly people and experiencing new cultures. A broad and informed perspective is the most important thing in life!

PHILOSOPHY

This universe is awesome. I think we're here to explore it and discover. I strive to experience new things, I always meet the most amazing people when I do.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a lot in the recent past but now I'm hoping to travel after graduation.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While living in Las Vegas I hosted a plethora of travelers from all over the world, it was a rich experience that established myself in the community and helped to inspire and foster a growing wanderlust.

-------------------------------------------------------

I have met some extraordinary people while traveling, one recent experience inspired me to join couchsurfing.org.

I was traveling through the Atlanta airport to spend the remainder of my summer vacation with my family in Washington DC, when I met this girl at the gate. Her name was Alex. We were waiting for the same flight and struck up conversation. She had this grand adventure to Europe planned, not only was it her first time traveling to Europe but it was also her first time being hosted by couchsurfers! I was impressed, and honestly a little jealous of the adventure she was embarking on. I had been to many of the places she had planned to visit, and talking to her about her trip made me remember and realize how much genuine happiness that traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing cultures brought to me.

It had been a long time since I had been anywhere interesting or met a stranger whom with I shared three hours of great conversation. Although I was not hosting or being hosted, my flight and conversation with Alex was most definitely a great experience. It has inspired me to meet new people and see the world while also helping others do the same.

My favorite authors are John Muir, Carl Sagan, and Kurt Vonnegut. Their perspective on the world and our place in it has helped guide me down the path I've set out on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cliff diving in Croatia was pretty neat.

I have a decent amount of technical experience for outdoor sports, I'm always looking to expand that skill set, and share what I know with others.
