ABOUT ME

Recently graduated grad student struggling to survive on little to no income. What was I thinking. Was tired of the corporate rat race. Wanted some enlightenment. Enlightenment is expensive!!! Was involved in a project where I interview Holocaust survivors--I have been touched by these amazing stories in ways that words can never express. My current research is all about building community through food. Food is the great equalizer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Have hosted several times, but have rarely surfed. Usually already have friends where I travel or its a popular city and hard to find hosts. But still enjoy meeting new people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Met wonderful people from all over the world. Nothing but positive experiences of those surfing at my place. Will try again with the requests, but can't travel a great deal right now until I finish grad school.

Interests

kayaking, spending time with my friends/neighbors, having parties!
Educational research involves community building. I focus on food. Would also like to work on a CS project regarding building community through shared interests--like travel!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have been all over the world. Climbed (partially) up Mt Fuji, walked on the Great Wall, seen the pyramids of Egypt, the Painted Desert, the Grand Canyon, the Eiffel Tower, the ancient ruins of Greece and Italy, seen an active volcano, the birth of a colt, of a baby, the death of friends as they breathe their last breath. I have been moved by life and death, and consider myself to have lived a very blessed life thus far.
