ABOUT ME

C'est une sacré grosse question. Sans faire dans l'autobiographie : je suis un étudiant en philosophie et en arts visuels. Je suis guide dans une galerie d'art pendant l'été, et j'occupe mon temps à faire des lectures.

Je suis allé en France et en Colombie-Britannique en 2006. En 2007, j'ai eu la chance de planter des arbres sur une île dans le réservoir Manicouagan sur la Côte-Nord. Depuis 2008 je fais session après session pour terminer mon bacc et pour débuter mes recherches. Je voudrais enseigner la philosophie à l'étranger, si possible en Amérique du Sud, mais d'ici là, j'ai des croutes à manger!

PHILOSOPHY

This is definately *not* a question for philosophers; how can you give a concise and yet comprehensive reply to that!

Let's try : the world is an immense whole organised by physical laws... and yet we feel free and, in our context, it's a perfectly believable thing. We live in a society subconsciously conditioned by various ideologies (of *all* kinds), yet we refuse to admit it when we are confronted to our own dogmas. To this I oppose the problems of theory with the troubles of practice. We are shortlived, have limited (mental, physical and even natural) resources, and threaten our habitat with science and a strange libidinal tendency to overconsume purchasable goods, lots of them. In theory we could do something, yet in practice it appears we'd have to make sacrifices which would endanger human happiness. Frankly, must we become enraged and violent to be heard ? I'm afraid respect and peace is the only consistent attitude, yet we are stuck in front of the same problem : how can we prevent things from degenerating ?

I'm here, thinking about stuff that's a million times my importance, feeling I'd be a traitor to ignore these problems, yet also conscious of my own mental health... we all need friends to support us, real people, not merely ideas. The revolution should come from human friendship and joy if it wants to be one adapted to these values.

I'm still seeking a solution... throughout the world, both natural and literary.

Mes auteurs favoris proviennent du courant néo-marxiste de 1930-40, dont Max Horkheimer, Herbert Marcuse et Siegfried Kracauer. Je me questionne sur la validité des critiques sociales, l'état de santé des croyances entretenues dans l'espace public, les autres formes de systèmes socioéconomiques, l'éthique en contexte humain réel et la beauté dans un monde de l'éphémère et de la rareté.
