About Me
Hola! I am Francisco Rincon. I was born in Colombia. I recently attained a Master of Science (Msc) degree in Asian Studies from Nanyang Technological University. During the last two years I have been living in Southeast Asia, first in Indonesia now in Singapore.
Before this experience, I was working in Bogotá, my home town, as a Spanish language lecturer (ELE). I have had the great chance to worked with people from many countries and backgrounds which makes me feel fortunate. I love challenging myself to learn new things and going out my comfort zone. This is why I have travelled some interested places around the globe and I am looking to keep discovering.

Music, Movies, and Books
Salsa, firstly and above all. This is the most representative rithm from latinamerica to the entire world. Talented artists such as Héctor Lavoe, Willie Colón, el Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Celia Cruz and a myriad of stars have given so much hapiness to many, many people. (Also my students have excelled their Spanish command after some very fun lessons listening to them!!)
My favorite writers ranges from Jorge Luís Borges, (an argentinian gift to the world) to the classic mexicans (Octavio Paz, Juan Rulfo, Juan Villoro, Elena Poniatowska among many, many talented others) and, of course, the new Colombian generation (Mario Mendoza, Efraim Median Reyes, Juan Gabriel Vásquez) without
excluding from this list Gabriel García Márquez, Nobel Prize in literature 1982.
As to the movies, its a hard choice. If I am bound to categorize them in a top 3 so I would say: 3) the fifth element 2) Avatar 1) Terminator 2
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Going against the familly tradition of undertaking a traditional law career. I certainly feel blessed at this time of my life for having studied languages. Teaching and interacting with new people, new mindsets, new ways of understanding the world is much more interesting and enriching that handling legal affairs.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teaching of Spanish as a Foreing Language (ELE) with a native Spanish speaker oficially certified by Universitat de Barcelona (Spain). Furthermore, I am conversant with latinamerican literature all the way through from México to Argentina. So if you happen to be interested in learning the language of Lionel Messi, Frida Kahlo, Shakira or Cervantes I am certainly more than happy to help you with amigo!
