Music, Movies, and Books
Movie: Jim Henson, Dark Chrystal - ever since I was a child this fairy tale fasinates me, good score too.
Music: Lila Downs, great Mexican artist, sings in various languages with various moods: tragic, proud, funny.
Igor Stravinsky, Le Sacre du Printemps - as a piano player I grew up with classical music. The Sacre is a real marvel, powerful, raw, and rhythmic.
Book: Gabriel García Márquez, Doce Cuentos Peregrinos - I read slow, so short stories are my favourite, these 12 stories are eloquent and magic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Diving in a seaweed forest at St. Abbs, Scotland: cold, but very rewarding.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a historian, splitting my life between Delft and Eindhoven.
I have lived in Santiago de Chile as a student for some months. I was hosted by a brother and sister for 4,5 months, without paying a penny for it. It was my first experience with Couch Surfing before it even existed.
For my work, I spent quite some time in Brussels, Geneva, Paris and and Washington D.C.
I enjoy these changes of setting. They make me look at my own Delft with new eyes. Travel opens our minds in multiple ways. That's why I enjoy Couchsurfing very much.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to show my beautiful city.
A walk in the city center can usually be squeezed into my schedule.
Depending on my time constraints, I can also join you to The Hague, Leiden or Rotterdam.
