About Me

Hoping to find out more about me through my travels and while couch surfing.
- A third of my journey through while travelling alone I have felt incredibly lonely regretting my decision and wanting to go home. I have had far more and greater feelings of love, warmth and experienced generousity in a way unknown before now. Have met some great people along the way some of whom I will stay in touch with and go and visit in their hometowns.

Easy going, considerate, taking most things in my stride and always looking at the bigger picture of situations.

A practical person who does his best to practice common sense.

I sometimes dabble in writing.

The door.

The door is open.
To the world unknown.
Time keeps passing.
Oh how I've grown.

Missed opportunities.
Stop holding yourself back.
Open that door.
More than just a crack.

Walk run fly
Doesn't matter how.
Choose to be happy.
Choose to live in the now.

I started Yoga to help with my core and flexibility.

Here is something I wrote that yoga inspired -

Divine Light

Appreciate what is.
Instead of focusing on what is not.
The brain is a muscle.
Do not let it rot.

Negative thoughts and feelings,
Lead only to despair.
Concentrate on what makes you happy,
Especially when life seems unfair.

Stop and look around you,
You will find the love that is there.
Stop and look inside you,
And feel the love everywhere.

You are the hero of your story.
No one can take that away.
So fear not and claim that glory.
Everything will be okay.

Shine my brothers, sisters and friends.
Together as one, let our divine lights ascend.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

New to the CS community, I am road tripping in the USA in June 2017. I want to have the experiences and make the connections that paid solitary accommodation does not offer.

Spent 6 nights in NYC and was over it by the 4th. Not my kinda pace.
Spent 2 nights in Mississippi/Tennessee with a lovely host. Went to the coyote ugly bar. Met some random guys. Epic nights.
Drove to New Orleans for a night and some strangers on the cart invited me to join them for the night which was awesome.
Drove to Houston and had a quiet one in.
Drove to Austin and ...

I trust in myself and believe in the kindness of strangers that whatever experience I have will be the one I needed to have at that moment of my life.

Once I return from the US I will be leaving my parents nest and moving towards the city (Sydney) and start hosting myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Forrest Gump, world movies, quietly criticizing Hollywood remakes and/or how the book was better.
I love and appreciate all music genres. I see it as a gift that the artist is sharing with me, what's not to love?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

With no experience I volunteered to be a scout leader or else the group would close. 4 years later the group is thriving.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't know what I can teach. You can laugh at my accent, maybe some Aussie slang?
Forever learning.
Share some experiences together as everything will be a first for me.
I had gastro in Korea so I played charades with the pharmacist for about 3 minutes. Then I took my phone out and used google translate... I think he got it in the first 20 seconds, maybe he was enjoying my performance.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Someone who will be forever grateful and will somehow repay you in kind when you come to Sydney and stay with me.
Do you know what a buff is? I've got one for you.
I will cook or clean. I'm not allergic to work.

Countries I’ve Visited

Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, Viet Nam
