About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Travel to distant lands, read beautiful stories and sleep on lumpy couches.
ABOUT ME
I just got my teaching credentials in the mail! I'm a language arts and Hebrew teacher moving to NYC to teach and learn from the kids. I spent a summer swerving through Manhattan traffic on my little bicycle in 2004 and can't wait to do it again, but this time with a better bicycle and the proper safety precautions. I'm flying in Aug 3 and start work Aug 13. My goal is to find a place to live before I start work. I need a couch while I look for a place to live. If you have any ideas of nice people in interesting neighborhoods, let me know.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Almost everyone was incredible and warm. I hitchhiked alone in the dead of winter from Bavaria, Germany to Strasbourg, France with a pack that flapped backwards on my back (it was a large, I am a medium at best), a few torn paperbacks and a few scrawled numbers of CSers. I only traveled where CS took me; New Years in Paris in a house of fellow American CSers, in the heart of the fashion district in Antwerp, making christmas truffles in a tiny town, getting lost almost everywhere I went, but always eventually finding myself in someone's warm living room, in a pub, meeting strangers and friends.
Also CS in Israel, NYC.
Interests
meeting new people in NYC (my new home!), storytelling (written and oral), rock climbing, teaching Hebrew, long distance running, playing rugby, traveling to unusual places, eating new foods, dancing, meeting queer folks, bicycles, dancing, literature, coffee.
