ABOUT ME

We are Franny and Lukas from Germany - open-hearted, easy-going and spontaneous, not to say a little bit disorganised ;)
Our passports indicate that we are both 22, but our mental age fluctuates heavily depending on whether we are attending a neuroscience congress (feeling like 35) or trying to win a SingStar competition (feeling like 13).
For us, a perfect day starts with banana pancakes on the balcony before we go mountain biking with our friends, have sausages and marshmallows over the campfire and fall asleep in our hammock next to one of the beautiful mountain lakes in the Black Forest surrounding our lovely hometown Freiburg.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We adore the idea of CouchSurfing, to connect the individual lives of people all around the world and decommercialize travel.

At home in Freiburg, we love to show others OUR world, as we think that the city itself and the Black Forest has its greatest places offside the common tourist routes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Though we have often been lucky to spontaneously find great hosts on our trips, we are actually CouchSurfing Newbies ;)
As it was always fun hosting our housemates CouchSurfing guests, we'd like to continue this tradition actively.

Centres d'intérêt

We love being outside - hanging out with our friends at the lake or doing any kind of outdoor sports. Often hosting guests from any part of the world, we enjoy to share our (eating) culture by preparing homemade ice cream, grandma‘s chocolate cookies or escalope with cream sauce... preferably all at the same evening :) On the cold, rainy and dark days of the year, we delve ourselves into thick and heavy neuroscience books, trying to comprehend step by step a bit more about the fascinating processes in our brains.

Whenever we have the chance to travel, we love to explore the world, discovering new places by getting to know their people. It‘s always inspiring for us to experience how unique and diverse lives can be - no matter where you are.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Most amazing is probably how met each other: We were accidentally meeting on a scaffolding, having climbed out of the windows of a rundown youth-hostel in Cologne - both searching a place with fresh air to look over the city.

From that day on we went through many little amazing moments, at home and on our trips. One of the most memorable ones was a night in a hayrick on a hiking trips throgh the Alps, having forgotten to book a bed on the only hut in the area.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

As we do psychology and medicine at university we are the perfect intensive care package for your mental and physical health :) ...always happy to help with the big or small challenges of life.

Lukas knows juggling quite well and even more how to teach it spontaneously to anyone around;)

We both love to bake, cook and prepare all kinds of delicious food. Our specialties are grandma's chocolate cake and various german specialties.

Tough our piano (Lukas) and violin (Franny) skills are a bit rusted, we played these instruments many years and can teach the basics.
