About Me

I have a nice apartment easily accessible by public transport in Prague.

I spend my adolescence buried in books, reading everything I could get my hands on, but my main field of interest was history. While at university I started traveling and realized that by seeing the world through your own eyes and meeting and talking to people from all over the world you can learn much more. Since then I have visited almost 40 countries, went from Prague to Beijing by bike, met thousands of great people, heard countless stories, and received incredible amounts of hospitality everywhere I went. This experience turned me into a relentless optimist about the world, an attitude that I very much enjoy spreading everywhere I go. I ended up in China where I was working/studying for the better part of the last two years. Now back home working for an NGO inspired by ideas of effective altruism and doing my best to give back.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I never used CS much, I mostly traveled by bike and used Warmshowers, the same thing for bikers, but it isn't in everywhere.
I have received so much hospitality everywhere I went so I am happy to give back when I have the chance.
Always glad to meet open-minded people and compare our visions of the world.

Interests

I have background in history and geography, I try to study a lot about the countries where iam traveling and iam always keen to learn more.
I spend more than 6 months cycling through Eurasia, experience that definitely left a mark on me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Stayed alive! After everything I have been through, this still amazes me every day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have got quite a few stories from my travels.
Being arrested in Xinjiang China, invited to Esfahan TV, landing in Istanbul during the military coup, and many more... I am very passionate about China and can talk for hours about every aspect of that country.
I love learning languages, apart from Czech I speak pretty well English and german and somewhat Italian and Chinese, I am always happy to practice.
