ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Frances Antoinette - 23 year-old female living the dream in Honolulu, HI. It's actually not a glamorous life, but I'm doing exactly what I want to do, how I want to do it, and no one can ask for more.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My experiences with couchsurfing have been completely positive. So far I have only hosted, and my guests have always been extremely interesting, considerate and grateful people. It's very exciting for me to be able to share what I have, even if it's only a warm, clean place to sleep for the night.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My boyfriend and I hosted 2 couples on separate occasions at his apartment in Italy. The first couple actually traveled with a baby! The second couple were both photographers and we got to travel with them to a gorgeous location for them to shoot and explore.
Here in the U.S. I've hosted a few times, all females. It's been so fun learning from them and having a new best friend for a day or two!

Interests

Trying new foods/restaurants/bars, visiting museums/zoos/old houses, chilling with cool people, connecting, cooking, hula hooping, dance, singing, watching movies/live drama, comedy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One time a couple years ago I was at a camp for special needs children working at the barn. The barn was on a hill with woods surrounding it. I was just leaving and walking down the gravel road back to camp, when I thought I heard a very faint lamb bleat. There were no lambs, but I thought maybe one of the ewes had had a surprise pregnancy or something. It was so faint that I thought I had probably imagined it, but I still stood for just a moment to see if I could hear it again. I did! So I went into the woods just as it started to mist lightly. It was so beautiful! The the dark green leaves and foliage shimmering, the light soft and warm and the water falling gently. I went deeper into the woods and saw a deer bound away. Then, as I went down a slope, I saw a baby deer, bound in an old fence! The poor thing had one leg cut to the bone by the wire. I untangled its leg and carried it down to the camp nurse, who fussed over it and cleaned its leg. We found someone who cared for abandoned baby deer and as far as I know it recovered and did well. It was a really neat experience for the whole camp.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you to hula hoop/west coast swing! I'm also a barista which means I know EXACTLY how long to steep tea. I also love discovering new places and introducing people to my favorites.

What do you know how to do? Can you teach me how to play a chord on the guitar? Teach me a new folk song? Tie a knot? Cook something different? Introduce me to an inappropriate Italian phrase?

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to cook you a meal, buy you a coffee, share a bottle of wine with you, do an activity of your choice, or meditate with you. If you have a dog I'll beg to take it for a walk.
