ABOUT ME

Dear traveller,
how can I describe myself? What about to start with the fact that I love couchsurfing and enjoy both hosting and surfing. My very first experience with this "type of travelling" happened in Spain. I came there with a friend of mine without any knowledge of the Spanish language (both of us:-). Thanks God our host was very kind, showed us the city and talked to us about everything. I will never forget this first very-positive experience.

I think I'm a curious person with a passion for music and parties. Since I was an erasmus student in Valencia I've become addicted to languages. I also like history, sports and movies - just scroll down a bit if you want to know more...

I work as a freelance cartographer which basically means travelling around the country (sometimes even Europe) and making maps wherever they want me to. Sometimes it's difficult to plan hosting, because I often change my plans according to weather and travelling schedule. But when I'm free I'm ready to party 24/7:-)

Interests

** First of all, MUSIC. I've been very passionate about the music since I was a kid listening to The Beatles/Iggy Pop/Frank Zappa's albums. Yeah, you're right, my parents had a good music taste:-) There a book by Irvine Welsh that perfectly describes my music transition. It's called Glue and its Czech subheading is: FROM PUNK TO TECHNO.

** TRANSLATING - I'm a Czech subtitle-maker translating from English and Spanish (still waiting for the first hit!)

** HISTORY - I'm just curious about what happened, discovering new facts every day...
This is our Facebook-project I'm working on right now:

Music, Movies, and Books

** MUSIC I don't really wanna start writing an interminable list of artists I like now:-) For those who wonder:

---> (it's not up to date)
http://soundcloud.com/monsieur_francois
---> I like making indie mixtapes. Check them out if you like indie/electro/dance music
http://8tracks.com/captainlefrancois
---> my favourite tunes one by one. I've just discovered this page, I will add new mixes soon...
I used to write about music when I was at university. I do not consider myself an expert, but if you have the same interest we can talk for hours...
** LANGUAGES - Still working on my French which is like Leonardo Di Caprio's French in Django Unchained - "...he loves this language, but don't say a word in French, he would not understand:-)"

** CINEMA - almost the same as music, I love it! I can go to cinema every day or spend a night watching four or five movies. I enjoy the visual aspect as well as music and memorable quotes. I have some favourites I can watch over and over...
