Bad horror, good kung fu, with a special place in my heart for David Lynch, Kaufman, Wes Anderson, and Michel Gondry among other gifted writers and directors.

Michael Ondaatje and other great Canadian lit, Gunter Grass, Hermann Hesse, Daniel Quinn, Borges, Nabokov, Huxley, an assortment of non-fiction of the historical and political bent.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rented a car with some of my best friends while traveling in Israel and drove through the Golan heights. On the top of a hill surrounded by mine fields and pitted with trenches and bunkers we looked across a landscape of rubble and fields and Syria beyond. Perhaps it goes without saying, but it was pretty heavy.
