About Me

22, living in Gaz, Austria. I have a passion for foreign cultures and languages and love traveling and exploring, preferably more and with less money ;)
I can host people if I'm in town! I have two mattresses + Bedding and 3 roommates, so mutual respect is key. Our flat is in the heart of town and I'd be more than happy to show you around :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like to explore a place through the eyes of a local. Also, I love the concept of kind people all over the world providing a safe bed/couch/piece of floor and a day of fun and exploring for other travellers <3

Interests

Traveling, obviously. Reading, making friends, going out, bonding over a few beers, hiking, concerts, playing the guitar/piano, hot weather, yoga and meditation, food and the sea. I prefer to do things spontaneously and always try to get off the beaten path. Hate planning. I love stories, documenting and writing. I also love photography and I make short films from time to time. Music is a biiiig passion of mine, I play the piano and the guitar, dying to start doing percussion instruments. I'm big on creativity and am sometimes lost in one of my alternate realities or dreamworlds for days at a time. I want to make documentaries or become a photo journalist one day so I can show people who prefer to stay home (which is totally fine!) what is happening in this beautiful yet cruel world of ours.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Rolling Stones, The Strokes, Manu Chao, Beirut, Native Young, Hozier, Alt-J, Boy, Bob Dylan, Glass Animals, Nicola Cruz, Yoke Lore, The Sticky Fingers, Fat Freddys Drop and Ibrahim Ferrera to name just a few. Blues and techno give me goosebumps!

Movies: Not really a fan of movies but up for getting proven wrong! I do love well researched and eye opening documentaries and I'd love to show you some of my favourites :)

Books: Anything that broadens my horizon. Especially love reading historical novels about badass women such as Ida Pfeiffer (traveling all over the world by herself in the late 1800s) and Beryl Markham (first person ever to fly nonstop from England to the US).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once starred in a big chinese movie. I lived abroad for 2 years. I followed a musician through europe and met him backstage like a proper groupie when I was 18. I survived a poisonous spider bite on a remote island without any medical care. (Thanks to a native woman plastering my leg with herbs!) I did Vipassana while living with the female monks of Thailand. Former president Hollande once walked right below my balcony in Hanoi. I helped bring someone back to life after drowning. A famous austrian actor has read one of my very own poems in front of loads of people.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak both German and English fluently, learning French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish and Sign Language myself. I am a bit of a history nerd. Really good at cooking from scratch and love to experiment with you! A+ wingman. Certified yoga teacher, meditation instructor and energy healer.
