About Me

Hi! My name is Franzi and I´m 20 years old. I grew up on a farm in the very north of Germany. So, if you have questions about farming in Germany I´d be more than happy to answer all of your questions :D After growing up in a small village I wanted to see more of the world. With this aim to see more of the world I decided to go on a big adventure- in a different country with another language, away from my home and family. Being an Au Pair in the United States. And honestly, this was the best decision in my life so far. In my first year, I lived in Baltimore and got to see almost the entire east coast. Now, I moved to Seattle to explore the other coast of the USA.
Additionally, I am a very active and athletic person. My favorite sport is (Beach-) volleyball. I started playing Volleyball almost 10 years ago and it is my passion. I discovered that I love hiking and just enjoying nature.
Moreover, I like to read and get to know new people from all over the world. It is always interesting to learn about new cultures.
Something else about me is that I´m a little nerd :) I´m really into Maths, (Astro-) Physics and Philosophy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I decided to look into Couchsurfing because a friend of mine had so many amazing experiences. When I saw what great people she met I decided to join this amazing community as well. I think this is a great place for travelers and people who are interested in cultural exchange just like I am. You stay with a person and get to know each other as well as some insider tips about the place you are visiting. You might see places that you wouldn´t even think about and these ones are most likely to be the best ones.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to listen to different kinds of music. For example Pop music and Rock. There are so many amazing bands and artists out there. Like Blink 182, Greenday, 5sos, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth, Sunrise Avenue or Ed Sheeren to name a few. (I could go on forever) I really love 80s, 90s, 00s music as well.
With movies, it is kind of the same thing. I enjoy different genres, like comedies, romatic and horror movies. For example Divergent, The hungergames, hangover or evil dead. And I´am excited for the new Halloween movie :)
Same thing with books :D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the most amazing thing I´ve done is that I decided to live in the united states for at least a year. Away from everybody I know. But it was the best decision ever because I got to know so many new people and saw a lot of new places. I also became more independent and travelled alone sometimes but always got to meet new amazing people on the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really like to teach people new things that´s probably why I want to become a teacher when I´m back in Germany. I can teach you some german and share my culture. And I hope I can learn that from you as well.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully an amazing time. What I would also like to share are recipes and maybe cook something. I love German food and would like to introduce you to it as well. Furthermore, we can share travel experiences and a LOT of cultural differences between the country you are from and Germany. And of course everything I know about Germany.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
