Dear Couchsurfers,

I grew up in the beautiful town of Heidelberg in the south of Germany. After I graduated school the only thing I wanted is to explore the world and get to know my environment, so I traveled through Italy, Spain, the United States and ended up staying in the Netherlands for a few months. I also lived in the US and Netherlands during my study program.

Now it's time to explore again! This is why I am moving around Europe to get to know places and people in the surroundings of my home country.

CURRENT MISSION
After being overseas for so long, my goal is to explore more of my home continent Europe. Next stop will be the England, which I want to visit since I am a child but somehow never did.

ABOUT ME
Besides being interested in traveling and different cultures/people, I would consider myself being a creative person. I love to write, draw or take photos. I also enjoy spending time in art museums, libraries or bookstores and see other people getting creative. But of course, I am also interested in the things most people are doing: meeting friends, watching movies, going to festivals/concerts (indie/rock)...
I am also vegetarian (which is almost impossible, as all traditional German dishes have meat).

HOW I TRAVEL
When I am traveling, it is important to me that I get to know the culture and lifestyle of people in the place I visit. It is not just about running from one sight-seeing point to the next, or partying all night and sleeping all day (unless that's what the place is all about). I want to get to know locals, and I think that I can sometimes learn more from sitting on a bench, observing my surroundings than by being busy catching up all the touristic tours. As much as I love having lots of friends, I am interested in solo travel. It gives me the chance to grow with every situation and get to know a place in depth.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

There is a big difference between staying in a hostel and staying at a locals house. You will never see a place in the same way as a resident does, who has been living there for a time. Furthermore, I like the possibility to spend time with others while traveling solo. You can have a good time together and maybe stay in contact or visit each other.

Interessen

I have various interest, but most of them are creative. As I mentioned in the first paragraph, I love everything that has to do with art. I like beautiful pictures or buildings. But also literature, music, and theatre is art for me.
I'm also interested in human beings. Not that much in the biological perspective, but in psychology, history, sociology. As I work in marketing technology, I am also interested in Data & Ai, if you want to have a conversation about that :)

So you see, I have many interests and I am sure, that I forgot at least one :)

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: Nirvana, Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Billy Talent, Linkin Park, Eminem, and I love german rap

Books: To kill a Mockingbird, Animal Farm, Nothing

Movies: Well, I love Harry Potter. Sounds ordinary but I grew up with these films/books and so I would say it is my absolute favorite movie. But I also love(d) Robin Williams; 'dead poets society', 'awakenings' and 'good will hunting' are just three of so many films I would ever see again.

I went to the Bahamas for one day on a ship. Would have never thought that I'll ever get there!

I can help you to improve your German or tell you something about the culture. But I think by staying together with people from another country, we are learning more than in school education.
