About Me

CURRENT MISSION

spread happiness all over the world!

ABOUT ME

Well... My best friends would probably say that I am crazy. But in a very good and positive way :) And that I am smiling the whole day :) I am very open minded and like to meet new people. Further I love movies and tv shows, the good old ones as well as the new ones :)
All in all I am a very easy-going girl who likes to have fun and enjoys her life :)
Furthermore I am a "foodie" sometimes. I really like to cook and try out recipes from all over the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is nothing without a smile and a huge bar of chocolate.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I don't really know what to say here... As everyone I assume I am looking for places to stay on my trips and I am always more than happy to offer a place to sleep at my place and show people around in Groningen, if I have the time to do so.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately I don't have that much couchsurfing experience yet. I stayed with a british family once for three weeks and I found them on a website similar to couch surfing. It was a really great experience and I am just hoping to meet many amazing people via this website as well!
I heard a lot of positive things about it from friends of mine, which is why I am planning to try it out this summer as well :)

Interests

traveling, reading, movies, laughing, cooking, knitting, baking cookies, chocolate, sorting my dvd's by color.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have to admit that I am a huge fan of superhero movies and chickflicks. I have a huge collections of dvd's myself, which is constantly growing. However, it is quite hard to define my taste of movies, because I like all kind of movies, except for most horror movies, as they keep me from sleeping at night. I guess that I am quite girly in that regard...

Regarding books, I have to admit, that the most ones I am currently reading are my study books. But generally I really like the classics like Anna Karenina, as well as fantasy books like Harry Potter. I also like to read books about the current political situation in the world, with a special interest to the middle east... Oh yes, and I really enjoy cooking books! I guess that's it about me and books...

Music genres and I have a really difficult relationship as well. I LOVE the 90s, 80s music, but (and that's quite hard to admix) I also have a weakness for One Direction (but no worries, I am not one of these really annoying fans, I just think that their music is pretty funny). Further, I like Florence and the Machine, Franz Ferdinand, Adele, the Backstreet Boys, The Baseballs, The Beatles, BOY, Ed Sheeran, some songs of Enno Bunger, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to the Western Balkans in May and that was one of the most amazing trips of my life (that's also the reason I am going there again). We went swimming in the Kravica waterfalls and hiking in Kotor. It was just amazing!

I guess that Pristina was the city that impressed me the most during that trip. My previous stay had been Kotor, which is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever visited. So when I arrived in Pristina and saw all the destruction, I really started doubting why I decided to go there. This doubt however vanished really soon, when I got to know the people there. They were so open minded and positive, which really impressed me. I further discovered that Pristina has probably more vegetarian and vegan restaurants than any city in the Netherlands. A woman also took me to Mitrovica, where she grew up. It was really impressing to see the city and the barricaded bridge in real live, that I'd only heard of in the news so far... I knot that it sounds cheesy, but a guy told me once that a part of your heart stays in Kosovo once you've been there and I have to admit that it's true.

There are lots of moments I really enjoyed during the last years :) If you're interested and we'll meet once, I can tell you about it ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach. Lern. Share. Hm... That's quite a difficult question. Well, I could teach you how to knit or how to bake vegan cookies which taste incredibly good (a friend of mine gave me the recipe and they are amazing!). Further, I could tell you some really random stories about really small countries (for instance Nauru, the 3rd smallest county in the world), and other random facts, if you are interested in that. I could also teach you how to ride a unicycle (if you have one at home)...

And I would love to share the fascinations of the Dutch cuisine with you (for instance 'stroopwafels', which I could bring you from the Netherlands)

What I Can Share with Hosts
