About Me

ABOUT ME

I used to be very active and lately realized that I sometimes work too much and that I had to take some chill time for myself. I still work a lot voluntarily, for example in planning educational projects on development policy issues for young students. I also work for a network in Hessen (federal state in Germany) assembling actors and actresses of the civil society. I think there are a lot of actual societal topics, where already young people should have an opinion on, based on background knowledge, which often isn't part of the school curricula and I enjoy supporting those kind of informational projects. Of course everyone is free to decide what kind of opinion they'll to have.
But now I more and more enjoy going for a walk in the beautiful forests around Marburg, taking my bike and drive somewhere, as it calms me down and also is a change from all the activities I do with friends and fellow students. Marburg ist a beautiful small city, with a lot of students, and a proportionally big amount of people who pay attention to ecological way of life and where I guess a lot of people live in their own bubble, but thats everywhere the case. I like it very much, but I also like to get out sometimes and I spend quite a lot time travelling, visiting friends, family or my boyfriend who live in other cities or countries.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I didn't have time to host travellers yet, but when I'll have space I plan to do so, because I'd like to give other travellers similar nice experiences than I had and exchange stories, thoughts, experiences, whatever.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed several times in lots of different countries and am always overwhelmed when I see so much open minded, kind and interested people! I really like to get to know people, learn about their life experiences, life realities and worldviews.

When I arrived in India, in Kolkata, I met up with Anna from Vietnam, to surf in an indian family. I don't know what I would have done without them. Going to an indian wedding, eating dinner in the car at midnight and playing with the kids, those are moments I'll never forget, as being shared memories.
I couchsurfed in Germany, in Brazil and in Marocco and always spent wonderful times with the hosts and trying to cook some german dish in return.

Interests

I recently started a course in improvisation theatre and really enjoy it. When I see an interesing theatre piece, poetry slam, film festival, music or dancing event, I can be very spontaneous and motivate other people to go there. I also enjoy the nature and would like to do a little biking tour with a friend, taking my tent and just sleep somwhere, if its warm enough. And I also enjoy moments when I'm for myself, calm and happy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Beside a large diversity of music genres, I love jazz and rock music. Depending on the moode, I also like electro swing, balkan music, chilly music, melancholic music or rap, when mixed with different genres. Sometimes I also like house, but it has to be a mix that touches me.

I like reading journals with social, political or global themes. But I also like to read novels about just the bright side of life or other life stories.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh I don't know, there are so many, I like moments when I bond with people from anywhere and have interesting experiences, for example with my chef during my internship in Cameroon, who was a very intelligent, charismatic and interesting person or a friend whom I met there, who was a novice and with whom I shared a lot of nice moments and talked a lot in the evenings. I also liked it when I travelled with my family to Sofia, Bulgaria and we went hiking with a small group of mostly Bulgarians, whom we met through couchsurfing. Eventhough my dad didn't speak english, he really enjoyed it and still tried to communicate - it was quite funny.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like to cook and try new recepies. I could show you how to do a Flammkuchen, Spätzle, Curry or a Black-Forrest-Cherry-Cake if you've got some time.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Czech Republic, England, France, India, Ireland, Italy, Laos, Namibia, Netherlands, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand
