I'm a 33 year old man from Macclesfield in North West England (near Manchester), though I've lived in London for the past 8 years.

My main interests are skateboarding, reading, cycling, hiking, travelling and music to name a few. I'm a vegetarian and environmentalist (UK Green Party Member).

When in the UK I'm a social worker by trade, in safeguarding children. I also have some family therapy training so do a bit of that. I love social work, but it's hard and I'm taking a break - see below!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm doing a solo bicycle tour of the North Western United States and Southern British Colombia between April and July 2017.

My vague route is:
Vancouver-Seattle-Portland-Oregon-Idaho-Wyoming-Montana-British Colombia-Vancouver.

I plan to spend a a lot of my time WWOOFing (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms). In-between those times I'll be taking my time cycling between a few planned destinations. I'll have a tent with me, but couch surfing seems like a great way to meet new people and get to know a place properly. A bed and shower is naturally a bonus, but I'm also happy to pitch my tent in people's gardens!
