About Me

Settled down in Edinburgh, Scotland, constantly looking forward to do something that could surprise me.

Travel is what we make out of it. And happiness is a state of mind.
And please, never stop the chain of smiles :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing is amazing for discovering the world and sharing experiences.

Here the perfect song for it

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH3CRVVBL9o&feature=fvw

What a beautiful face
I have found in this place
That is circling all round the sun
What a beautiful dream
That could flash on the screen
In a blink of an eye and be gone from me
Soft and sweet
Let me hold it close and keep it here with me, me

And one day we will die
And our ashes will fly from the aeroplane over the sea
But for now we are young
Let us lay in the sun
And count every beautiful thing we can see
Love to be
In the arms of all I'm keeping here with me, me

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I met up some people for drinks and chats and I surfed in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Japan and Malta so far.

When I lived in Japan I had the chance to host, finally, and I had some people from Canada and Taiwan!

And i'm looking forward to my next experience!
I really like CS: I want to live like a local briefly. I like to know what you think of your city and I am interested in meeting new people from various backgrounds.

Also, the CS community in Edinburgh (where I live) helped me so much when I moved there.

Cheers :)

Interests

Hobby:
I love cinema. I love watching analysing and make movies. Cinema like illusion of reality and fake mirror of our world.
I like photography. I love taking photos and I adore people who take loads: a photo is a piece of life and it's very closed to memory process (a photo recall an event) and to travel ("remembering the past is a form of mental time travel; it frees us from the constraints of time and space and allows us to move freely along completely different dimensions" -Eric Kandel-).

"Se la Fotografia appartenesse a un mondo che fosse ancora in qualche modo sensibile al mito, senz'altro si esulterebbe dinanzi alla ricchezza del simbolo: il corpo amato è immortalato dalla mediazione di un metallo prezioso: l'argento; e inoltre bisognerebbe aggiungere che questo metallo, come tutti i metalli dell'Alchimia, è vivo"

I also love cooking =) please, teach me your grandma's recipes, please!

Anyway, I like human intellect in general.

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it, or fade it, or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own; if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to
be careful, be realistic, remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can
disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, 'Yes.'
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children.
It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
I love reading. Currently reading: Border, a journey to the edge of Europe by Kapka Kassabova.

Man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons. (D. Adams)

Bree said, "I think computers ought to have a key called I'M DRUNK, and when you push it, it prevents you from sending email for twelve hours."
Kaitlin said, "I've got another one: a key called FUCK OFF. You press it every time your computer does something annoying-in turn this would somehow Force your computer to experience pain. And if you pushed SHIFT/FUCK OFF, you'd end up with FUCK OFF AND DIE, the computer equivalent of a razor being raked across your nipples." (JPod)

“A journey, after all, neither begins in the instant we set out, nor ends when we have reached our door step once again. It starts much earlier and is really never over, because the film of memory continues running on inside of us long after we have come to a physical standstill. Indeed, there exists something like a contagion of travel, and the disease is essentially incurable.”
― Ryszard Kapuściński, Travels with Herodotus

Music:
I also love music. I like so much progressive rock, electronic music, jazz, classica, chip music, but I'm sure there is much more out there to discover, so suggest away

If you ever get close to a human
and human behaviour
be ready to get confused

there's definitely no logic
to human behaviour
but yet so irresistible

there is no map
to human behaviour

they're terribly moody
then all of a sudden turn happy
but, oh, to get involved in the exchange
of human emotions is ever so satisfying

there's no map and
a compass
wouldn't help at all

human behaviour
