About Me
ABOUT ME
I find it hard to describe myself but once a very close friend of mine tried to describe me with 3 positive and 3 negative attributes:
+ passionate, funny, mindful
- stubborn, hot-tempered, oblivious
I guess I agree with that description. ;)
I studied communication science and worked in PR and Marketing. In 2017 I quit my last job and was travelling a couple of months before I started my own communications company. I am a happy business woman ever since. ;)
PHILOSOPHY
Can't say it better than Mark Twain:
'Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile. Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.'
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love the idea of getting to know interesting people from all over the world in my living room - and vice versa. I embrace the whole sharing culture, I think it's the best way to live and interact with other people. Couchsurfing is for me not just about letting people sleep in your place for some time - it's about trust in the good things, gain amazing experiences with complete strangers, discuss random topics and hear new thoughts, cook together, drink together - just leave a good mark in somebody elses live.
And I strongly believe that travellers just HAVE TO stick together and help each other on our journeys. Participating in couchsurfing is a perfect way to achieve all this.
Interests
I love traveling, talking and reading about traveling and watching movies or pictures about traveling. ;) From a very young age I was always interested in other cultures, languages, foreign food and everything that comes along with discovering other countries.
I love (!!) music and regret that I'm not (yet?) a musician - no instrument, terrible singer. I would love to get to know your favourite bands, maybe I can also show you some stuff you like.
Good food and cooking is also very important to me. I try almost anything on my travels :) - and I just love to cook. Even though I am far from being a pro.
I am terrible at keeping plants alive (believe me, I tried...) which sucks, cause I want to grow my own fruit and vegetables. So, if you're a born farmer and have a green thumb - tell me all about it. ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
There are a lot of movies that I love for different reasons: The Big Lebowski, Lucky Number Slevin, Remember the Titans, Anchorman, Old School, Shutter Island, Chocolate, Benny & Joon, Blow, ...
I also love to watch documentaries about nature, travelling, environment, musicians - If you haven't watched "Searching for sugarman" - do it NOW! :)
I LOVE music. I can enjoy (almost) any kind of music if it fits the mood and if it's passionate. :) Mostly I'm listening to rock from different eras, alternative rock and singer-songwriter stuff. I love bands like Alter Bridge, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Greta van Fleet, Wolfmother, Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder, Royal Blood, The Black Keys, Rolling Stones, The Last International, CCR, Tracy Chapman, Muse, Paolo Nutini, Seeed, City and Colour, The Coppertone, Life of Agony, Tenacious D, Korn, Jack Johnson, Florence & the machine, Mumford and Sons,...
I LOVE books as well. ;)) Stuff I enjoy(ed) reading: books about our society systems, personal development, feminism. Books i recently read: Gun love by Jennifer Clement, Writers & Lovers by Lily King, Identitti by Mithu Sanyal, Moonwalking with Einstein by Josh Foer, Alles könnte anders werden by Harald Welzer.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Backpacking through SO-Asia on my own for 4 months was just mindblowing!! <3 I am very much in love with that part of the world.
A very, very special experience: I won a 2-weeks-trip to Costa Rica. Yes, WON. I know, how amazing is that?! :) I spent 10 days with 3 strangers in the middle of the jungle. Let me mention, that I had a serious dislike for spiders and I was not really what you would call the jungle-type. So I looked all my (99% irrational) fears straight in the eye and went for it. UN-BE-LIEVE-ABLE! Do it, as soon as you get the chance.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am willing to learn anything - especially some nice foreign dishes. We can cook some typical Austrian stuff as well of course. ;)
As I mentioned above, I like to learn new things all the time - so, surprise me. ;)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach you "austrian german" - I mean, everybody would want to be able to speak like the terminator, right. ;)
I can definitely cook some nice austrian food. So be prepared to gain some kilos, 'cause we like it hearty. :)
And last but not least, I can tell you some of my favourite names for spiders, which is very important: Because once they have a name, they are less scary friends. Kind of. ;)
