About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To indulge my thirst for languages, ones familiar and not. To live on my own terms. To spend time with amazing people in amazing places eating delicious food and drinking delicious beer/coffee.
ABOUT ME
I am a bit of an anomaly. I have a mixture between a very bookish personality and a very creative personality. I enjoy spending my time both reading for fun and for education, as well as getting my hands dirty, all covered in grease and soot and sawdust. I love to make things, and will dabble in whatever material seems to fit the bill, be it molten or solid metal, wood, glass or concrete. I have a strong and nearly all-consuming passion for words.

Music, Movies, and Books
Where to start? I'm a big fan of post-punk, new-wave, no-wave and noise rock, but I have quite an eclectic taste in music. It ranges from The Beatles to Brian Eno, from The Strokes to John Cale and Patti Smith. I like English classics, on the literary front, particularly literary books. Hardinge, Huxley, Carroll and Heller are among my favourite authors.
I'm not a movie buff, but I can aprpeciate a good flick, and I'm quite partial to old school gangster films.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Walking into the Pantheon in Rome left me absolutely gobsmacked, there's no way of comprehending everything that has gone into that building, or of the many uses to which it has been put. Sitting in the ancient theatre at Epidaurus in Greece, I suddenly realised that, 3000 years ago, someone was sitting in that exact spot watching a performance, just as I was.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am proficient at Classical Latin, and can turn my hand to just about any manual skill, as long as I have a bit of time to read up on it, and to acquire the tools and some basic skills. I brew craft-beer from scratch, and am eager to brew with other people as well. With enough notice, I have all the gear to brew beer with interested surfers. I am eager to learn languages, though my priority at the moment is Italian.
