Hi, I am Putra. Although I graduated from B. Ed(Hons) TESL in 2012, my passion has been in the tech industry.

I started coding basic HTML using notepad utilized my graphic design skill since I was 17 years old. I have also been actively involved with graphic design and digital marketing since 2008 as I founded Boonga Studio, where we focus on selling customized art products via E-Commerce website.

I began involving myself with tech startups in 2015 when I started working as the product manager for Octo House where they built an automated Instagram marketing software. I am also well versed with content creation, copywriting and UI/UX design.

Using all my expertise and experience, I started a personal project with few friends called Buku 555, a debt management app that managed to gain more than 60K+ users and recorded debts worth RM33.5mil+ within 3 months.

Nowadays, I don't code anymore, but I am actively involved with the process of software development related to the companies I'm working for.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest, I just discovered Couchsurfing last year when I was participating in an online business meetup in Kuala Lumpur. I registered my account, but I never had the chance to fully explore the fun in Couchsurfing.

I was told that we get to meet a lot of interesting people in Couchsurfing, and they have a different point of view as compared to those who are not on Couchsurfing yet. I believe, that by having the generosity to share your home with another stranger is amazing and I'd like to meet with more people via Couchsurfing.

I may not be on Couchsurfing previously, but I was already accepting a lot of strangers into my life as they are traveling in my country. These people made me realize that there is more to the world that I have yet to explore. Therefore, I really wish that I can make more friends from all over the world.

I'd love to share the culture of my country and listen about others' culture too. Such topic has always been my favorite each time I meet with new people.

I hate to admit this, but I am a fan of Blackpink(a female korean pop group). However, I am also glued to the OST of The Greatest Showman and I love watching Shark Tanks.

I co-founded a debt management app called Buku 555 in March 2018 and we managed to get more than 60K+ users in less than 3 months and recorded debt more than RM35 million(=$8.5mil+).

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn about the local culture of other countries, especially something that is not really shared publicly to the world. I love exploring the local streets of other countries not related to tourist spots.
