About Me

Having spent the last 6 years grinding away behind a desk, I have shed my responsibilities and set off to see the world. I just wrapped up seven months in Southeast Asia and am off to spend the next three in Europe. I've already made lifelong friends from Europe and beyond, but I'm not about to stop now. I'd love to meet some more amazing people (and save some money - hostels here are a bit expensive). I enjoy having fun as much as I do learning and exploring new places.

PS I quit my job and terminated my lease to travel, so I don't have a home to offer at the moment, but when I do it will surely be open for couch surfing!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet new people and save money on a accommodations (and from the looks of what's available in Europe lots of it)

Interests

I'm borderline obsessed with footy. I watch. I play (no need to like football, but big bonus points if you can find me a game to join). Otherwise, I'm very open-minded about learning new interests and sharing my own. Try me. You'll be surprised at what else I happen to also be interested in

  • reading
  • traveling
  • music
  • live music
  • drums
  • hiking
  • scuba diving
  • snowboarding
  • sports
  • swimming
  • economics

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a confusing range of music. My first love was hip hop, but I have since expanded my library to include downtempo, Edm, rock (preferably classic and garage), jazz, classical (yes, classical), funk, soul, flamenco (yes, flamenco), and a long list of guilty pleasures.

Some literary favorites include All Quiet on the Western Front, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Great Gatsby, and Catch 22.

I'm a pretty big movie buff. Like a lot of the later classics like Godfather and Taxi Driver, but also enjoy some new ones like Let the Right One in, and Harold and Kumar go to White Castle. Love GoT and Black Mirror.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed Mount Rinjani in Indonesia in late July this year. It was close to the most physically and mentally challenging thing I've ever done. If you host me on your couch I'll happily tell you about it and share some pictures. The views were some of the best I've ever seen, and the pictures came out great!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach that not all Americans love trump (most don't). I'm well educated and love lively discussions that leave all participants better informed. I want to learn different views and ideas. I want to share memorable experiences.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a friendly, fun, considerate guest, who can help out wherever needed. Who loves to party as much as exploring. Who has the social awareness not to invade space or privacy.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, El Salvador, Greece, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Thailand, Viet Nam, Zambia
