About Me

I am a student from Melbourne in Australia currently studying on exchange in Uppsala, Sweden.

I love getting outside and into the environment as much as possible, especially through running, cycling, skiing, hiking and just about any other outdoor activity!

I study a Bachelor of Environments at home and have an interest/ concern in environmental issues, particularly climate change. I would like to study urban planning for masters.

I enjoy meeting new people and discovering new places and cultures.

Most of my most cherished memories have happened outside while doing something I love like skiing or hiking with like-minded people.

At home I spend a lot of time training with my club, Melbourne Uni Athletics Club which is a big part of my life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have heard great things from friends who couch surf and I love the concept of it.

I believe that some of the best travel experiences are those where you meet the locals and get a flavour of a place through their eyes. For instance, at school I was lucky to visit France for five weeks on a reciprocal language exchange, and staying with the host family was a highlight.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favourite music: difficult to narrow down my exact favourites but I love Australian acts like Tame Impala and Flight Facilities, as well as jazz, electronic, hip-hop, pop etc. A perennial favourite of mine are the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Not really a movie buff but I enjoy documentary/ outdoors films. A memorable one I saw recently was called 'Sherpa' about Himalayan mountain guides who risk their lives to get mountaineers to the summit of Everest fighting for better pay and conditions. Aside from the fascinating story, I loved the beautiful cinematography of the Himalayas. School of Rock, Shawshank Redemption

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Come on a university exchange programme to Uppsala, Sweden for a year (August 2016 - June 2017)!

So far it's been an incredible! I have met so many new people, discovered some truly beautiful new places in Sweden and thoroughly enjoyed experiencing student life in a different country.

Teach, Learn, Share

I enjoy listening to other people share their life experiences and knowledge as well as discovering different lifestyles and cultures

I like to discuss environmental issues with other like-minded people, I find it gives me hope in the face of an uncertain future environment

I can share a passion for outdoors activities and stories of adventures hiking, skiing etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to think of myself as considerate and courteous, especially when someone is sharing their home with me!
