About Me
Howzit going people! Right now I'm having a jolly good time living abroad in Tokyo and and enjoying all the whackiness and brilliance this city has to offer.
Sadly I'm just hear for a year and then back to my home University of Sussex in Brighton, UK. I guess like most people on here, I live by trying to enjoy all that life has to offer, seeing, experiencing and befriending all I can. Things I love doing at the moment are cooking (I enjoy getting experimental), walking around the city here and playing a bit of guitar.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Even if I had millions in the bank, I reckon the philosophy and raw experience couchsurfing has to offer would still draw me to surf around in welcoming homes than stay in 5star suites.
For me, one of the most rewarding and fascinating aspects of travelling is the people you meet. And befriending locals offers the most enlightening experience of them all. I've learnt so much from the people I have met travelling around.. and Couchsurfing seems like the perfect platform to help do this and hang out with some friendly locals! I'm always happy to make a new mate!
Interests
Since I was a wee lad I've been playing Rugby. At the moment, I haven't played properly in a couple of years but still love the the game and always make time for watching England play.
Learning Guitar on and off for about a year now. I love it though still a bit rusty!
Everyone loves enjoying some tasty grub and I like to use the kitchen without any guidelines or recipe books. Usually turns out alright!

- cycling

- playing guitar
Music, Movies, and Books
Films
I absolutely love sitting down to watch a good movie. I've never subscribed to any one genre in particular but I'm a fan of all things that tell an interesting tale + make ya think. A film with a good dialogue is always a winner for me.
Favourites - Dazed and Confused, The Matrix, and most things Tarantino-esque
Music
Again, Genre defying but love all things that make ya groove..
A few favourite artists - Red hot chili peppers, Arctic Monkeys, A Tribe Called Quest, Vampire Weekend, The Kinks, Gorrillaz, Foals, Fat Freddy's Drop, Less Than Jake, Dizraeli, All Them Witches
Books,
Right now I'm reading a book on how Ancient Buddhist Philosophy is so compatible with modern Science - and its quite enlightening, I must say!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living with Buddhist monks in the Tibetan Mountains of Larung Gar. A monestry town hosting tens of thousands of monks and nuns, it was a wildly enchanting, magical place. Big love to all the people there for helping us out with a fabulous time!
