About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To not let any day go by without having learned something new about myself or the world

ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small village in the south of Sweden that is beautiful and idyllic but not great for meeting new people. I have lived in Los Angeles for a year and loved the experience of living in a huge multi-ethnic city with people from thousands of different cultures mixed together. After that experience I worked as a pre-school teacher for a year in my homw town, a lovely experience as I love children... :)I have also lived in London for a semester, studying English language and literature. At the moment I live in Lund in Sweden where I study business. I see myself as a happy, easygoing and openminded person. I am stubborn as hell and always carry through what I have decided to do :)

PHILOSOPHY

Only by travelling and interacting with different people can we learn about different cultures. Only when we have knowledge about different cultures can we understand and respect them. And only when we understand and respect each other can we coexist peacefully in a global society and enjoy the variety of mankind.

I love travelling and meeting new people; the world is an endless spectrum of beautiful strong colours and I refuse to live my life in the gray zone. I want to reach out and learn about the destinies of people from other cultures and experiences than myself.

That's my philosophies, other than being kind and openminded and not to judge people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not so much at the moment as I cannot offer a couch myself atm, but hopefully this will change in the future :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last summer I went interrailing in Europe with my friend Emma and we stayed at around 10 different couches and had an amazing time! Met some truly awesome people and everyone were so nice and friendly!

Interests

My main interest is definately to travel and meet new people! There's nothing like the thrill of visiting a new place or being able to share your travel experience with a stranger - soon to become a friend. Other things that I enjoy are:
- Reading: For as long as I remember I have loved to relax with a good book or poem. Finally, I have decided to persue this interest by studying Literature in London in the fall.
- Theatre: In highschool I was active in a drama group but nowadays my interest mainly lies in watching theare, especially musicals. One of my most memorable moments was when I was watching "Phantom of the Opera" in New York. Such an amazing show!
- Drinking coffe with my friends: In Sweden we even have a word for this "fika" that can't be translated to english. It basically means that you are hanging out at a cafe and talking and having a good time :)
- Horse-riding: Growing up on the country-side I had a horse for 10 years and I do love all kinds of animals. My family have a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback (a dog) named Liam.
- Adventures: I love doing something crazy, trying new things and doing something unexpected or slightly scary!

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything that can make me smile, cry, laugh, dance or think.
Everyone should read "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time" by Mark Haddon

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When living in Los Angeles, I made a day trip with my college's UNICEF club to an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico. Here I got to meet the most wonderful children that had been abandoned by their parents for one reason or another; maybe because they had drug problems, maybe they were too poor and starved to be able to take care of them or maybe they were already dead. I learned that also in a place like this there's light and those children were some of the most outreaching and loving kids I have ever met. But most of all I learned what an amazing difference some comitment and help can make in the life of others.

Teach, Learn, Share
