Cozy Canadian...Adventure (I tried for alteration)

Hello! I am a very friendly fellow who loves to travel the world, meet new people, and eat new foods. I look forward to meeting you!

Currently I am working in higher education with a particular focus on adult student access to education. I'm a space marxist who is exploring cooking and loves to bake. My perpetual goal is to find a beer so dark and heavy its like chewing tree bark.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Former host, try to meet surfers in Boston when I can.

I spread the awesomeness of Couchsurfing at every opportunity, from surfing when I travel to encouraging friends to utilize couchsurfing for traveling and community events.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Beginner surfer, surfed a bit in Europe and in Atlanta, it was wonderful, met some great people.

In the second half of 2014, I started hosting a few travelers - had a great time and looking forward hosting more travelers.

Interests

I live to learn about and explore the world.
On top of traveling and exploration I have a strong interest in subway/metro systems (I'm talking nerd level). I can give you a run down of all the systems I've been on and what works and what doesn't (see nerd, told ya)
Where ever I travel my favorite part is meeting people.
Oh how could I forget cafe pontificating, pub exploring, bare feet picnicking, and bookstore paruzzing

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise I am reeducating myself on the great rock of the 60/70s, some of my favorites include The Who, The Clash, and the Sex Pistols. The Arcade Fire, Guster, Real McKenzies, Flogging Molly, and the Beattles top out my favorites list. Movies wise I am a huge sucker for romantic comedies like Love Actually. Some of my all time favorites are Star Wars (the originals only), Persepolis and Airplane!.
My book shelf is filled with political and historical books (fitting my major), several distopian novels, some graphic novels (mostly political haha) and a very large collection of Star Wars books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I attended President Obama's election night rally in Chicago in 2008. It was incredible, one of the best experiences of my life.
I hugged so many people that night, Chicagoans are friendly but not nearly as friendly as that night. That night, love and hope were the only two emotions in existence.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I can share.....intimate knowledge of flying and riding metro systems and of the Star Wars universe. I am full of random bits of knowledge.
Life is about learning, from knowledge comes growth and understanding.

A damn good breakfast (egg sandwiches are my specialty), amusing stories and anecdotes of an eclectic nature, and career advice (former career adviser)
