About Me
Hey!
we are Freddy & Nasti two good friends from Munich, Germany. We both decided to travel to different places around the world for one year before studying music management (Nasti) and design (Freddy). Because we are very concerned about climate change, we wanna do all these trips as climate-friendly as possible so we never fly, but always travel by bus or train.
We are both friendly and open-minded people who like to meet new people, but we can also take good care of ourselves. Nasti in particular has recently become very fascinated by Norway. Some Norwegian series, the music and of course photos of the stunning landscape have made the country very interesting for her. I‘ve also been in love with the scandinavian countries and their easy-going people since a family vacation, so she had no great difficulty in getting me on a trip to Norway & Sweden. We imagine that the perhaps somewhat unusual time of the trip in the Scandinavian winter can be a new and unique experience...the chance to see the polar lights alone sounds very exciting…
We both attended a Waldorf school near Munich, through which we have known each other since the first day at school and have always been in the same class for 13 years. In spring 2019, we both successfully passed our Abitur at this school, but we are also very grateful for every other school day. We appreciate the huge range of extracurricular learning opportunities (in a Waldorf school you do a lot of internships in craft trades, social institutions and larger enterprises, as well as agricultural internships and stays abroad with the whole class) we also found the special promotion of creative skills and the creative, artistic approach to teaching to be very good for us. We are both convinced that this type of school has contributed significantly to us being more independent, creative and questioning people today.
Now that we have finished school and many of our classmates have flown directly to Indonesia and Australia and all these exotic regions, we felt that we had to get to know Europe a little better first because we believe that Europe can also be very interesting and exotic!
We have also traveled to a few European countries together, but so far only in southern Europe and without the help of such a great platform like this;)
We look forward to seeing you!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing has already been recommended to us by many traveling friends and seemed to us to be the perfect platform for staying with locals and getting to know the place better.
We look forward to seeing you & when we are back home you guys are welcome to also stay with us and we show you where we live;)
Cheers,
Freddy & Nasti

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Since our school was also a UNESCO project school, I (Freddy) had the opportunity to spend one month helping Kenyan organic macadamia nut farmers on their farms as part of a school project. I was able to experience firsthand how the Kenyan farmers are doing, what their everyday life looks like and what makes them happy. at the same time they also learned a lot from us, since we were the first muzungus (white people) in the village.
I also did a student exchange in Australia for 3 months, which was a great experience too! Even if the cultures down there were not very different from ours, the stay still was very exotic and exciting
What I Can Share with Hosts
* Art-Project
If it is something like designing / painting a (house) wall in a creative way, or decorating other buildings, or even just creating art installations on your property, we would already have a lot of ideas for it & certainly really great fun implementing them!
As a future design student, I (Freddy) have a huge interest and also a bit of experience in this area.
* Animal care
Both of us were able to gain some experience on a demeter farm with agriculture and animal husbandry during our school days - at a Waldorf school. For two weeks we helped the farmers with everything that needs to be done at a farm.
At home, I (Freddy) grew up with two cats and a dog, but also Nasti is animal-loving - even without pets.
* Childcare and household help
Nasti has been supporting care of a family with 4 children for several years now and I (Freddy) have two younger sisters that I get on very well with, so I guess we would get along well with your cute kids too;)
Also we both enjoy cooking - btw we have no precise idea of what to expect as "typical Norwegian food" and maybe you feel the same with "typical German food" so that we could close this knowledge gap!
We are happy to take on any type of housework so that the stay is pleasant for everyone.
* Wood work
At school, a class trip was once dedicated to helping a forester. We learned a lot about the forest and ecosystem and were even allowed to cut a few trees from the forest (without a machine, only with an ax and ropes)
Since this was a few years ago, please do not expect that we still know all the information, but we can still say that we once felled a tree :D ...a few skills are surely still in our fingers
* Languages
We would be lying if we claimed to be trained English teachers, nevertheless, we have already spent time in English-speaking countries abroad (one month of a UNESCO project in Kenya, three months of school exchanges in Australia and family trips to England). Nasti also likes the French language very much, if that's of interest.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Austria, Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Portugal, Spain, Sweden
