Overview
About Me
***IMPORTANT!*** Please note, we live in Cooperstown, NOT New York City. If you're headed to the city, our place is unfortunately about four hours away so not a great home base for your NYC adventure. (New York City is awesome, we love it!)
Ok now on with the fun stuff...
CURRENT MISSION
Collect enough bottle caps to make a giant map of the world!
ABOUT ME
We are two brothers living here in Cooperstown while David does his residency in surgery at the local hospital. Sam works at the hospital too and is working on a book about his experiences living in Skid Row in LA. We both love music and we spend a lot of time listening, writing, playing and recording here in our house. We've had some really priceless experiences traveling and getting to witness peoples generosity and made some great friends too. We're into traveling on the cheap (by boat, thumb, bus, whatever) and so we love the idea of a network of people that are willing to share their homes to help others travel without having to spend their retirement!
PHILOSOPHY
It's not what you do, it's who you are while you're doing whatever you do.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Host, surf, encourage other people not to be a bunch of uptight squares.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
One of our favorites:
Picked up by a single lady on the "Highway of Tears" (supposedly there's a serial killer at large hacking up hitchhikers) in British Columbia on David's 25th birthday. She drops us off at a Mexican restaurant to celebrate, hears we have no place to stay, and comes back to get us. She takes us home and we stay up late drinking beer with her and her partner. The next morning we get up, shower and eat home made yoghurt for breakfast (we got her recipe). She takes us back to the highway and we thumb our way down the road. Best birthday ever.

Teach, Learn, Share
Let's see...we could teach you how to play happy birthday on guitar, tie knots like a surgeon, grow a wicked mustache, upholster the ceiling of a van, build a squatty potty, skin a raccoon and look good in Crocs. That's a pretty good list.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Got lotsa stories! We usually travel with some kind of instruments so music is always on the menu!
