About Me
ABOUT ME
I am from Boulder, Colorado but I go to Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. I am studying environmental journalism. I love to write and I am hoping to use writing in the journalism sphere to increase awareness about the environmental issues we have created in the world and will be forced to solve if we wish to thrive as a species on this planet. I think environmental issues are some of the most important issues we face in the world, and I am continually inspired by the ways people around the world use their ingenuity and creativity to overcome those issues. Travel is one of the great loves of my life. I love the way it teaches us detachment, teaches us to not hold too tightly to anything be it people, places or feelings, and reminds us to appreciate every moment.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I originally joined couch surfing when I was traveling around South America with a friend and we wanted to be able to see a more authentic representation of the places we visited by being welcomed into local peoples' homes. I have never hosted, but I am absolutely going to put my house on couch surfing when I return the states.
Interests
I love to travel and meet new people. I love to spend time outdoors and find places still untouched by humans. Places you have to work to get to. I love yoga and hiking. I love spending time with friends. I love the feeling of creating a beautiful meal from fresh alive responsible ingredients surrounded by friendly faces and appreciating the hell out of what we created together. And I love the feeling of returning home after being away for awhile and rejuvenating my appreciation for a place that had turned stale before I left it.
