About Me

I'm Fred, a 29yo psychoanalyst in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

I graduated in electrical engineering at UFMG, but then moved on to do many other things: writing, photography, sourdough baking, film making, coding and, of course, psychoanalysis.

The thing about me is that I do have many passions, and I will not give up on them.

I'm not particularly religious, but I'm godfather to a handful of kids in my family.

I have been living with my fiancée and her three cats for a couple of years now.

If you ever host me, you can expect me to be chill and organized, and always up for a chat over a cup of coffee or a pint of beer!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The more I travel, the more I realize that I'm the most interested in the people, their culture and daily lives.

And it goes both ways: I also feel the proudest about where I'm from when I'm taking it with me and being able to tell, show and cook some of it for others.

I believe Couchsurfing is a great platform for just that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some of my most listened artists in Spotify lately have been: Caetano, Gil, Criolo, Chico Science, Bituca, Luedji Luna, Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver.

I haven't watched many movies these last few years, but I've been loving Joachim Trier's and Paolo Sorrentino's movies.

Some of my favorite writers are Adélia Prado, Guimarães Rosa, Drummond, Raduan Nassar, Roberto Bolaño, Galeano, Cortázar, Gabo, Fernando Pessoa and Natalia Ginzburg.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure I have made amazing things in a general sense, but I am so proud of some recipes I've worked on the last few years, especially the sourdough focaccia bread and the specialty coffee!
